Don't think I'd be pleased as a Hammer if this is true. First Arbeloa, then Zabaleta. Two ageing Right Backs for a position that requires pace. But maybe it's more for a dressing room influence. And maybe he wants to experience London in more depth before he goes back (most likely) to Spain for retirement

Pablo Zabaleta will end his 9-year stay at City this summer after the club failed to offer him the 2-year deal he wanted. [@MullockSMirror]

I will cry

I would give him the 2 year deal he wants only if his wish was to then follow on into coaching and have him step into the u18 vacant manager's position, if anything he will at least instill some passion and fight into the silky skilled youth that we have, plus it means he will still be here and complete hi 10 years, a magnificent feat for one of our "mercenary players" pfft

Pity we then have to travel to Watford, but I think it could be quite an emotional evening when the final whistle sounds against the Albion.

Such a shame he's not the player he once was, really wish he could have stayed in in a coaching role

He might come back in a coaching role.

The interview with Vieira, by Martin Keown, when the academy was built, suggested that the club really wants to retain a connection with some of the 'big' players, in the future.

Happy to hear, would love to see Zabs in the coaching dug out going mental with the rest of us one day.

Zabaleta: "Whatever happens at the end of the season, one thing for sure is my heart will be here and my love for this club is massive."

End of an era on Tuesday. One of the highlights of my life was bumping into him in tescos east didsbury just doing his shopping like any guy would .....
PABLO ZABALETA will leave Manchester City at the end of this season and sign for West Ham on a two year deal.
The club have announced they will not be renewing the Argentine club legend’s contract and he will join the Hammers on a free.
He will bid an emotional farewell to the Etihad on Tuesday night in what will be his final home game for the club against West Brom
