Where will he fit in this season? For me he is so underrated its untrue. A true warrior who gives his all for us.

Will be a squad player at best I think.

I love this guy and think he will get a lot of game time, just think most of it will be off the bench to shore up the defence or midfield when we are in control of a game. His no nonsense approach is very appealing to me in much the same way as Kompany and De Jong. The club needs players like these.

And lets not forget he is still relatively young, so the potential to improve is still there, could still blossom

Don't think Zab will be much more than a squad player this year. He's great to have around though and I hope to God he stays. I think he will mind and Mancini is a fan which will help. He is one of the core squad players for me along with Big Vince, De Beast and Shay. You rarely hear about them in the press but seem very professional, down to earth and have influence in the dressing room. I love Zabba.

Love Zabba one of the best performances i've seen from a city player just behind De Jong last season was his against Wigan in 08/09 playing in midfield scored the winner as well from 25 yards, would be a very good squad player to have

I think it's crucial that we keep some of the players like Zab that are versatile. I see him more as a midfielder than as a defender, and I definitely think he should be ahead of Vieira in the pecking order for the midfield. So Zab, DJ, Barry and Toure as our DM/CM options and we should add another DM/box-to-box player if we loan M.Johnson to some Premiership club. That makes 6 players for 3 positions:

Barry
Zab
Toure
New/M.Johnson
(Vieira)

It would give Mancini the chance to play different type of formations, both a diamond 4-3-1-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 etc.

Iv'e always thought he play's better in midfield.

Not his biggest fan.

Poor RB, average midfielder, poor tackles at times which lead to dangerous free kicks and slow as fuck.

Wingers must love coming up against him when he's playing RB.

Workrate and passion is spot on though.

Squad player at best.

yeah he's as good as what we had last season in there, i like barry and i'm a massive fan of big nige too, at times we looked slow in there and somebody like zab or adbi in the centre would have been better than paddy v

You simply have to have players like him in your team. He wont be a regular starter, but he will definitely have some important moments next year.

Zaba is not a defender, although can play there. He suits the role next to sweep, as sweep is quite defensive minded when needed.

Agree he does give away free kicks in dangerous places, when he got sent off recently springs to mind.
