Pablo Zabaleta

I just hope they get straight to the lap of honour at the end, so there is nearly a full house to recognise a true City LEGEND, a proper bloke and a proper Blue

Been thinking about this all day. Wish he could stay, West ham don't deserve him after what saw today. Good luck Zabba, don't be a stranger. Manchester will miss you

The mental image of Zaba - all those last ditch block tackles winning the ball, crowd rises to its feet because they know what's coming, striding away, a one-two and a lung-busting run, a pass inside and screaming for the ball approaching byline, perfectly weighted through ball from David, first time pinpoint cross with Sergio on the end of it. Forces the quicker opposing wide players to take the ring road, buy some time, into position, get the tackle in, another sprint up the pitch and back to his own area. Back from a hamstring injury in four days once. Iron man - the fucking man. World class. A genuine man of the people. A bona fide legend. With his swashbuckling, physical style, he could have played in any era - would have been a hard man in the hard man 60s and 70s. Cultured crossing ability.

Will be hard to watch him play against us, but we'll give him the most rapturous welcome back.

All the best Zaba - thanks for everything !!!! And when you retire, come back and work for us !!!!

A proper warrior of a player that you don't find much in todays sanitised game.
He'll be much missed as a player and a man at our club.

I remember exactly where I was when I heard we'd signed him. In a packed Wetherspoons in Sunderland ahead of our game there, when the yellow SSN ticker started scrolling across the screen announcing that we'd signed him from Espanyol. Looking back, it's astonishing how he has managed to establish himself as a modern-day club legend, given how much the club has been transformed in the past 9 seasons. Not only that, it took him a fair while to cement his place in the team and show us just how good a player he is and with the huge turnover of players in those early years of the takeover, he could've easily been moved on. When Boateng signed, I thought Zab would be on his way and even during the 11-12 title season, it was Micah who got the nod the majority of the time but Zab managed to nail down the spot in the last 10 games or so.
