Not what I saw. Kyle had Zaha in his pocket. Zaha is quick but Kyle's quicker and physically stronger - read every move. As dominant a right back performance against a very good winger - albeit a diver - as you'll see all season.in the first half he was awful. he gave the ball away numerous times and Saha had his number. I dont know what happened at half time but in the second half he was brilliant.

Until the bone crunching started I was saying 'plucky old Palace for having a go'. Palace throwing men forward at times should have played into our hands and in top form we'd have ripped 'em apart as the space opened up. But our players are not robots and we were playing with fixture build-up in mind, which probably cost us our rhythm and normal tempo. Dann got injured attempting a foul and Puncheon ......... better not say anything - might prejudice ongoing legal proceedings.I thought they gave us a game (everything about the bad tackles has been said), but they defended very well and kept us out, not many do that irrespective of our form
Lost a lot of respect for Palace and their fans, with them denying it was a dive and not condemning Puncheon and the ref.
They were just dirty today, knowing they could get away with it with a complicit ref, and their shot on target was the penalty from a dive. Even Newcastle created more than that.
If it's that bad today then 2 weeks against Liverpoo is going to be insufferable.
Love Sane, but he can give the impression of being casual - leaving the ball behind, not running onto passes, miscontrolling the ball at times. When he's on it, he's unstoppable. Time for Benardo to step up. When Sterling doesn't play you can see that something's missing - illustrating the extent of his development. He is perpetual motion and defenders don't know whether to risk engaging or standing off. A constant menace.Only our defence was half decent today. The entire midfield and attack were somewhere between poor and fucking useless. This was probably Sane's worst game since he joined the club.
It looks like fatigue is really starting to kick in now. The only positive today is that we'd have lost this match last season. Hopefully De Bruyne's injury is not too bad and we'll have David back for Watford.
The club definitely need to bring in at least one forward in January now. The squad as it stands is not capable of competing on all fronts.
I was in the 'signing Sanchez now might upset the balance and feel-good spirit in the squad', but as in any walk of life, events can take over. I'm now of the view that signing Sanchez would be pivotal. I cannot think that Pep would sign a lesser stop-gap player. He'd want Sanchez for the longer term.Love Sane, but he can give the impression of being casual - leaving the ball behind, not running onto passes, miscontrolling the ball at times. I remember headlines in the early noughties in Hamman's time at Liverpool after we lost 2 - 0 to them. We had a go, attacked (no parking the bus) and one review said 'City got what they deserved - NOTHING'. Fast forward to yesterday - Palace have one shot on target at home - that being a non-penalty..... and some people have the nerve to say they deserved the draw or even a win. Yes, they attacked now and again but no shots on target in open play at home deserves NOTHING.Palace were worthy of nothing.
Why don't you go on the Palace forum where they're praising Puncheon for 'taking one for the team' when KDB broke after the penalty save.
I'm sure you'll get an appreciative audience on there.
A police spokesman said: “Jason Puncheon, 31, of Kingswood, has been charged with a Section 4 public order offence – causing fear or provocation of violence, possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.”
I’m no legal expert but that sounds like a spell inside to me?
Is it not a bit weird that the club haven’t suspended him until the case is over? He’s been charged. Essentially the police and CPS are confident that he’s guilty. He got away with ABH yesterday, so no doubt he will get off with these charges too. cnut.
My immediate thought, Roy the fucking Hudgson and palace is responsible for assault on kdb.Is it not a bit weird that the club haven’t suspended him until the case is over? He’s been charged. Essentially the police and CPS are confident that he’s guilty.
Would other clubs keep a player in the squad in the same situation?
I'm sure there is precedent from a few years ago when a ref rescinded a yellow card from a City player so the FA could ban him. The ref stated that he didn't realise the severity of the tackle. Surely there's a case for Puncheon's tackle on KDB where he didn't make any attempt to play the ball, just had his eye on KDB whilst the pen was being taken with a view to taking him out!
Regarding the decision on Zaha I wonder if Ed saving the pen swayed them? It shouldn’t have any bearing on the panel’s decision but as the pen was of no consequence it provides an easy get out for them.
Well that cricketer was kicked out of the England squad because he’s been charged. My immediate thought, Roy the fucking Hudgson and palace is responsible for assault on kdb.
Panals overturn decisions the referee doesn’t see or has missed. The referee saw the incident and made a decision, if they dished out a ban to Zaha it says a lot how poor the officiating is in this country if the incident is picked up on. Better for them to do nothing.
