Palestine Action

They'll be charged under section 13 of the Terrorism Act, so not actually classed as "terrorists" (see s.40).

But I hope it's not illegal to highlight the stupidity of all this by calling him a blind terrorist or her a frail terrorist.

It's almost as if the Police want to help make the case at the high court that proscription is suppressing peaceful protest against genocide. Either that or police overtime is a bit short at the moment.
Or they have absolutely no common sense at all.

Meanwhile Gary Gammun and his army of fuckwitts are trashing Newark 'in the name of freedom'...

The local MP will probably be joining in.

Yet every single one of those arrested today had a choice. They could have turned up, protested, supported the plight of the Palestinians and opposed the IDF and Netanyahu and his government but no, they had to very publicly state they support a banned group.

Admit it, it’s not really about the Palestinians is it for many?

Ask Yvette Cooper.

"Friend of Israel"

Doesn't want to disappoint her lobbyists.

That many? That’s dumb. What if it’s 500, a 1,000 or 5,000 next time? What if we all started wearing Palestine Action t-shirts?

Talk about creating problems for yourself.

with this govt its mis-step after mis-step. They have done a lot of good things like breakfast clubs for kids etc but they react badly to things or make policy decisions that are a gift to their haters. Who the fuck is making the decisions?
I read earlier that the RAF are angry at being told to fly spy missions over Gaza ( despite Lammy - who is suddenly a keen fisherman - denying they were so they have simply outsourced them to a private American company who fly with the transponder switched off. They have been given a gift and have no idea how to use it to their advantage.

It’s a bit sad really, older people trying to bring a little bit of meaning into however many years they have left, by trying to be controversial.
As you say, just protest the issues, no need to mention PA.

They have the political instincts of a fucking gerbil. Why they made this an issue is beyond me. Don’t make unnecessary problems for yourselves, it’s not hard. Oh, wait apparently it is.

Why is it sad ? older people have as much right to protest as anybody else, trying to leave the world a better place than it currently is by protesting the government labelling Palestine action a terrorist group.
In the main the police are arresting over seventies and even an 81 year old with cerebral palsy, easy targets
When the government don’t listen and carry on supplying military equipment to Israel who have systematically annihilated 62 thousand Palestinians, it’s down to the public to protest.

Don’t think spy planes have transponders switched on.

Yep, blame everything and everyone else instead of those that knew they would break the law and be arrested.
I mean I think you’ll find that’s kind of the point. Initially they were protesting the plight of the Palestinians. Now they’re basically protesting the UK government’s decision to designate PA a terrorist group. In fact, if I wanted to protest that decision, how could I do so without falling foul of the anti-terrorist legislation? Surely publicly stating that you don’t think they’re terrorists could be construed as supporting a banned group?

The only thing they are on course for is taking Johnsons record away for losing the biggest majority ever in a GE. They have to understand a SPAD is a SPAD because they have political ideas but are really unelectable. Their word is not fucking gospel.

Cooper out and then whoever replaces her out and then whoever replaces them out….

Just stop with the I support PA shite, it’s not difficult.

get extremists off our streets - use the anti terrorism laws

My word the police taking her to a police van :) she can barely walk, everyone shouts “let her go”
With the prisons overcrowded why does Starmer create this kind of chaos. The police put in the position of arresting an old lady who is out demonstrating to save the starving Palestinians.

Here we have old people being arrested. When down the road in Bristol the police have their hands full policing a far right March. Chanting “Immigrants go home”

as a Labour supporter they have me by the fingertips - any more of this and they can fuck off which is sad because our new Labour MP is quite effective

People have been threatened with arrest for having signs saying stop the genocide. So it’s not just people who are supporting PA group that are being targeted. Surely you can see that the issue here isn’t people who are protesting against mass murder. This government are a fucking disgrace
