I get why they are vocal about the Israel:Gaza issue, but I do get what you’re saying.
It’s like our very own fanbase with regards to our very own majority shareholder, Mansour bin Zayed Al Nayan.
I know Blues who are very vocal on this Israel:Gaza issue, but have never said a Dicky Bird about Mansour being the Deputy PM and Vice President of the UAE govt who are the main supplier of arms, funds and intelligence to the RSF who are committing genocide in Sudan; and who have torture prisons in Yemen, have control of the shipping lanes and ports in Yemen (220k Yemenis, including 90k children, have died of starvation and preventable disease due to UAE’s control on where and who food and medical aid is delivered to and who it isn’t) and funding groups to assisinste their Yemeni rivals.
Nobody from our fanbase has ever protested outside the Etihad about our connection to Mansour, yet they’re up in arms about the UK govt doing the similar things with Israel. The only Blue I’ve ever noticed say anything about being opposed to Mansour being our majority shareholder on this site is Rascal.
The Israel:Gaza issue is obviously an appalling situation, but it is very much an on-trend movement. It’s always been the ‘in thing’ to be seen to be vocal and active about.
Even though we put a ban on it in 2022, the UK govt are still buying oil from Russia, indirectly through India, helping Russia continue to fund their invasion of Ukraine and kidnapping of 20k Ukrainian children. But nobody is out protesting about that.
