That is bit far fetched, Corrigan was one of the best keepers in England definitely but not a world class keeper.

Joe Corrigan at his peak was world class. Had it not been for Shilton and Clemence he would have broken all records for England. He was better than any English keeper in the last twenty years.

I respect your opinion and agree to an extent that he was on of City's best keepers, had improved with age, was a lot better than Bonetti and some of the current English keepers, but not good enough to be included in the top bracket of keepers at that period of time. I think only World class keeper England ever produced was Banks.

Ouch!!

Ever is a very big word Ray. If my dad was still around he'd give you some grief for that one... He saw the lot over the years, and said that Frank Swift was the best he ever saw.

Personally, I think Shilton was better than Banks. Certainly the best English keeper I've ever seen. Joe Corrigan was unlucky to be around at the same time as Shilton.

It is down to the symptom of England not performing on an International Level in the major competions, and the lack of development in the players Technical and Tactical ability over the past 40 years.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

Joe Hart is fast turning into Nicky Weaver. A poser. Looking more and more like style over substance.

Cosy Pants has looked very confident and assured on his three FA cup outings. Two things that Joe has not looked very often this season.

Time for Pants to get a run imo. Give Joe something to think about.

It's awful easy to look confident when you aren't under any pressure at all. How many real scoring opertunities did he see? I can't remember 1 real quality save he was forced to make. Hart had 1 bad game. Let's not lose our heads people.

I often get to ground early on match days and watch the keepers warm up before the game. It is very clear to me that Joe Hart is a much better goalkeeper. His handling is far superior to Pantilimon's who often chooses to parry the ball rather than catching it. I would pick Hart every time as the no. 1 keeper.

Also, Hart's kicking in the warm up is excellent. I think he still gets a bit nervous during games and his apparent confidence is just a front. He is still young for a keeper, consistency will come as he gains even more experience playing in big games.

Agree.

Best keeper in the world for me is Buffon. Even though he's old , he just doesn't make howlers and makes all his saves look easy.

What helps Buffon massively however is that his team to a man defend collectively and aggressively. If our defence did that the Hart would rarely concede.

-FAcup semi final v the nick nack paddy wacks.
Who's your keeper?
Fuck the sentiment its Joe for me.

I do fuck the sentiment and it's Pantilimon for me.

So we should forget that Hart is the reason we won the semi final as we should of been 2-0 down inside 5 mins
We should also forget that he kept the game at 0-0 in the final when Jones got through

I'm astounded this has even warranted a thread. I've lost count of the number of games Hart has been absolutely astounding and can only recall one major clanger and that was v Soton recently. I'm a nervous wreck whenever I see Pants is gonna be in net. He had a shocker in the Community Shield and although he looked fine against Leeds he was barely tested. I'd have Hart in goal for the semi and the final (providing we get through of course).

Ask any top flight manager who they'd prefer out of the two and you'll only get one answer. I don't buy this myth that Hart is complacent/over confident either, what basis is there for saying that?! He's the best keeper we've had for donkey's years and to doubt him is madness.
