Pantillimon..

Pants at munich was brilliant, with his best saves coming to mind being the first shot on target for munich from Ribery, the Kroos shot and Robben's deflected attempt at goal. All those are not guaranteed saves by Hart with some huge blunders by Hart coming to mind such as the Adam Johnson goal, the goal he gifted Carroll and his blunders vs Southampton. At the same time some brilliant performances come to mind such as his performance vs Dortmund. This makes me think that they are on level terms with the potential for both of them to go onto to outperform each other consistently.

Outrageous claim if not fishing!
Not fishing. Obviously when Joe's at his best he's the superior keeper but his poor distribution and how error prone he was last season leads me to the view that he needs to shape himself. Pantillimon is a fine keeper and he's better than Joe in a few areas.
Last season wasn't Joe's best season granted but the fact that him and Mancini didn't like each other didn't help

In training, pants does well, but joe is head and shoulders (no pun intended) above him. You can't forget that when pants has played he has got to be switched on and will perform out of his skin. Doing that all season long is a different story, give pants a whole season and he will make more clangers than joe, a lot more!

I have every confidence that he will be back to top form this season

I must have been day dreaming and hadn't realised that it was Macini who booted the ball between Joe's legs between Southampton and West Ham. Was Roberton a factor in the three Joe let in against Norwich when Kiddo was in charge?

Joe deserves to start the season for his performances over a number of seasons and I hope he gets back to his top form. However, if Joe plays like he did for parts of last season then we another good keeper in Pants to start in the league.

We will be playing with at least one winger for many games this season so that might means the bands of the team is more attacking so an out of form keeper won't be able to be protected by a very solid midfield and defence all the time.

If you don't like your manager and he doesn't like you, whatever you job, you aren't going to perform 100%

Well if that is true I would sell Joe Hart immediately for short changing the fans and the football club and letting his personal gripe against the manager affect the success of a football club which pays him handsomely.

Get rid of kompany too, silva, nasri, dzeko will all be gone if you had your way.

Not to mention the obvious Milner, Barry etc

Milner always give 100%. Those players lost form during last season not put in sub-standard performances due to their relationship with the manager. So was he really liked by those same individuals the year we won the league?

People's opinions and people's attitudes can change in a matter of days, a lot can happen in a year. Some of the players have let themselves down, no matter how much you hate your manager, anything less than 100% is not acceptable, but Mancini ended up a very unlikeable person at city...and that is a big contribution factor why some players performances were so poor
