For me pardon is the only acceptable one to use when asking somebody to repeat themselves
Grandson is currently of an age where he is learning new words and we pull him up for using what and correct him and his mum tuts and roll eyes at us as she think what is ok
Is it just me being a miserable old fart (49) and ‘what’ is acceptable ?

Tend to put sorry before what with them or "what did you say" and it is deemed acceptable
