I save £1000 - 1500 on a weeks ski holiday by taking the kids a week after the feb school holiday. I reckon the experiences they get on the mountains makes up for 5 days of school a year, Oh end the eldest finished in sept with 9 A-C GCSE's with 4 A stars. They've also had experiences most adults haven't had let alone kids.

this.

I don't like parents who...

Use words like 'fuck', 'shit' and 'c*nt' when they're pushing a trolley with a two-year-old child in it.

Leave their child in a push-chair outside a pub while they go in and have a pint.

Don't discipline their children when they swear.

Buy their six-year-old a phone.

Use their child as a weapon against their partner when they split up and move out.

Refuse to educate their children outside of school.

Don't know their right or left, or right and wrong.

Let their children be exploited by mass media and do nothing to stop it.

Force their children to fit in with their peers.

Can't say no.

Hit their children because they're power mad, rather than discipline their kids.

Leave their child in a push-chair and go into the bookies.

Who let their children be United fans.

Who don't backhand their child when they buy a United shirt.

(The last two were a joke, kind of.)

Thats her choice, at the moment she fancies primary school teaching or nursing so for either she will have to go to uni. Personally I think a year out after college working in retail or a factory will give her all the motivation she will ever need to better herself. At that age I just bought a one way ticket to Nice and bummed/worked my way around Europe for a year and i would like her to do something similar before she gets in the rut of the rat race.

Great thread...

Also parents who call their kids daft names...whats wrong with the likes of Steve, Paul, Peter, john etc....all this kaleb, seb etc just smacks of parents wanting to gloss over there boring lives my calling their kids something different.

2) Why is it that every parent thinks their kid/s are the most intelligent/best at sports, most creative etc etc. I'd like to think if I ever had them I'd take off the rose tinted specs and be able to watch my son play football and admit (not to him) that he's never going to make a career from the game, or that he's not the most gifted kid in his class!

Oh and the ones who use made up illnesses to excuse them being badly behaved/not bright ADD, dyslexia etc etc

I went to a parents evening for my 7yr old lad and was told he thinks outside the box my rose tinted glasses were shattered as I realised he would never be a world class centre forward.

He could still be a box to box midfielder...

Anyways, i don't see what the problem is with taking kids out of school. Seeing as how most teachers don't know how to teach, i would be doing most of the teaching my self. As it was done to me. I've turned out okay... Still went to school but if i've missed a day or two, sometimes a week or two due to family holidays or i was too lazy to wake up. Not a big problem, for me at least. It all depends on the child and the parents. If you can teach them what they've missed then by all means do it. If your kid is smart don't punish him for taking a school day off ( skipping class). The problem is with the other type of skippers. The ones that tent to make trouble when they are not at school.

Schools are more of a social gathering for kids (important) than education (very very important). The whole education process needs to be changed. Starting from the basics.
At the end everything boils down to how much education you have. People might not like it, but the more time you give in at books and school, the more money you will make. There of course are some exceptions but they are not that common.

Call their kids first names that are actually surnames..(tyson, tyler, Robson etc)

Peirce their children's ears

Call their kids "mate"

Tell their kids "not to take any crap off teachers"

Buy their kids I Phones

Shout..."Kennady.....get ovahr eaaarrr" in shops

walk around with their toddlers dummy's in their own mouths

preempt sentences with pointless disclaimers like ..."I'm not being funny, but"

take their kids out of school so to get a cheaper holiday

should all without exception have their kids taken from them by the relevant authorities and be medically sterilized!!!!

i call my 9 year old mate quite often. when we're on the way over the m62 to watch city or on the way to sheffield arena to watch wwe wrestling.

i quite often call him by our second name whilst on the park playing football with a load of his mates.

i took him out of school for a week 2 years ago to take him to disneyland paris to celebrate his birthday.

sorry if any of these things offend you.

personally, i think somebody should knock fuck out of people who suggest i have my kids taken off me. you sir, are a dickhead.
