Anniversary weekend.

Anyone know any decent reasonably priced bistro's or restaurants in Paris?

Not the Maccy D's on champs elysees! ;-)

Usual touristy areas.

Two don'ts for you:

Don't do what JOGAMIGMOG did when we went there for the TdF and take your own wine with you (and I mean on the plane... from Manchester!)

And don't ask for steak tartare like JOGAMIGMOG did either (it's raw and you won't like it!)

I imagine if you want reasonably priced you might have to avoid the usual touristy areas.

that's what i'm worried about!

OK I'm prepared to wander away from the tourist trail

but there must be somewhere decent in montmartre for example amonst all the rip off joints

well travelled lot on here so someone is bound to know some little gem

in fact don't we have a resident parisien blue?

if not then I'll be eating at the Bombadier :-) the missus might not believe its a complete coincidence though......

the northern quarter, near notre dame.

lots of cafes and restaurants with set meals 20, 30 and 40 euros.

i went with the wife 2 years ago.

we went for the 40 euro one most nights.. 3 course and a bottle of plonk.

La Coupole just off Boulevard Raspail.

Very nice decor, lovely grub and not too badly priced. It was Jim Morrison's favourite restaurant when he lived in Paris I believe.

Rue Mouffetard.

Fresh market during the day with superb restaurants which have superb early bird menus such as 3 courses for 15 euros before 19:00 which is the same standard fresh food they sell for 40 Euros after.
