Paris Saint-Germain (A) - CL | Post-Match Thread

We played well but missed too many chances. Not for the first time. And that has nothing to do with having a striker or not. Bit sick by that discussion anyways.

Messi had one great moment and scored. No way he would fit our team and the way we play. But he will definitely get all the media attention tonight and tomorrow.

Finally I’ve read some dreadful comments about Sterling on here. Doesn’t make me proud to be a City fan as I will always support whoever plays in a City top. He isn’t playing well. Do just ask yourself if he will profit from support or abuse.
I think the abuse is not right but effectively for some time now we have been paying this guy to play for another team not us.

Can't complain, got what we deserved from that. Whole defensive line, back 4, keeper, Rodri and Bernardo were all very good, no criticism of them at all. Going forward we were toothless, had chances to score but overall we didn't create enough, didn't look that dangerous either and they looked comfortable. Too slow. Mahrez had some moments where he looked threatening, wasn't terrible but has to offer more, not enough from him. Kdb got better but overall was terrible, that's two really poor performances in a row now that's a concern for Liverpool. Similarly with Grealish, offered nothing going forward didn't put in the work rate again. Sterling did what sterling of the last 18 months does, nothing. Not entirely his fault as I don't think anybody else in that position would have done much better tonight but he doesn't help himself with some terrible control and looking generally disinterested.

Result isn't a disaster so long as we do the business against Brugge in the next two games although we now can't qualify until the penultimate game even if everything goes in our favour. Should have rested some players it's going to look foolish now if we look leggy at the weekend and it costs us points.

No idea how we lost that. Dominated the game. Think Ederson touched the ball with his hands twice

We’ll be saying it all season but the failure to sign a goalscorer will kill us

But not that arsed. We’ll finish first or second comfortably. We’ve seen in the past that winning the group doesn’t always work out for the best

Liverpool a far more important game

Foden had a good first 5 mins and was pretty poor thereafter. I thought we looked more dangerous before the changes.
Have to agree although we needed Phil's direct running but he should have come on for Mahrez as we lost a bit of balance - Mind you I don't think Jack was getting anything from the ref.

To be fair who wouldn’t ? He’s absolutely class still, unbelievably good goal. Laporte should have volleyed him out of the park tho
A great goal I admit but honestly we didn't half help him score it. BT Sport coverage completely OTT in my opinion.

What would they be saying if Messi played for us? Not much I'm guessing.

Yes I'm grumpy. So what!? :-)

Anyone else not that bothered about this result. Feels like these early group stage games don’t mean anything
More bothered about some of the mard arses on here , wanting to sell half the f8cking team when we have just schooled the Chavs and had PSG and their superstars fighting for their lives for 90 minutes.

35 crosses into the box says loud and clear we need a striker.

Well, I've heard there is one in north London whose value has dropped somewhat this season. Cheeky £90 million bid in January?

We've had far worse performances in Europe than tonight. Monaco, Lyon and Chelsea spring immediately to mind. It's our old failing of not taking our chances that's come back to bite us on the backside. Someone like Aguero in his prime out there tonight, and we wouldn't have lost that game.
Only one chance fell to our striker today, the header that hit the bar. The two other good chances fell to a midfielder and a centre back. We didn’t really create anything outside those chances for our striker.
