I think you forgot the man who scored 3 goals!
No, I didn't! The point I was making is that all the attention beforehand was focused on PSG's individuals to the point where anyone but Pep would have been paralysed with fear at the brilliance of their attacking players. Not Pep! Pep stuffed his oft quoted message that he doesn't coach tackling right down the throats of those who misunderstood it so wilfully four years ago and in defence we never looked like conceding a penalty as our lads simply formed a human wall to force Neymar and co wide or back or to give the ball away. Stones and Dias were brilliant (without needing to make a single tackle in our area!), Zinchenko was superb and Kyle Walker showed that there are aspects to his game which make him truly a remarkable player. Ferna smiled his way through an excellent display until di Maria found the only way to wipe the smile off his face, at least temporarily. And we could go on, and that's my point - when we look at the two games City were by far the better team and when we look for the most impressive players not one (at least in my opinion) wold be from PSG. I singled out Phil because of his youth, which still blinds most of the pundits to what he has achieved already in comparison to other greats at the same age, and KdB, through whom so much flowed because they seem the nearest comparisons to Neymar and di Maria. There is no way that last night I was going to forget Rihad Mahrez, so if you wish I'll raise a glass to him now and agree willingly that he wrote himself into City legend. As did the whole team.

As for PSG they were well beaten. No other team has managed to outplay them to the point where they started kicking the opposition in preference to the ball and I'm afraid we've seen that "Poch" isn't the manager to cure them of this kind of disintegration: who can forget the unseemly collapse of his Spurs side in the face of Leicester's determination and Chelsea's refusal to let Spurs win? Or their craven surrender to United when leading 1-0 in the FA cup semi final? "Poch" appears to become part of the problem and join in the excuse making. Contrast with Pep ...

It really was a great team performance. There were so many amazing players that all deserve man of the match.

Dias and Stones were both rock solid.

Walker is a machine.

Zinchenko had the best game of his career.

Mahrez was ultra clinical.

Foden, just wow, some of the dribbles.

KDB - enough said.

Bernardo Silva must be the fittest human being on the planet. He never stopped running and if you ever need a player to see a game out it's him. He owns the pitch near the corner flag, doesn't he?

Gundo solid.

Ederson with another game-winning kick and handled numerous crosses with ease.

But my man of the match is Fernandinho. What an incredible performance from a 36-year-old. He intercepted everything, broke up play and most importantly, wound the fuck out of PSG for 90 minutes. Kept our players cool in the last 20 minutes. If he lifts big ears in a few weeks time it'll be more than deserved for a man that leaves everything on the pitch for this club.

My vote was for Fernandihno.how can you be 36 and be the best player on the park in one of the most influential positions on the pitch?

With his cheeky smile , his personality, his true grit and his sheer knowledge of the game he took all the attention of the ref and the paris players in the early stages of the game .. I believe this helped settle the nerves of our players and he never missed a beat for the whole game .. he someone the players really look up to,pep trusts him.. he was nearly the coach on the pitch with zin..

Also to not be a regular and to come and give world classes performances like that every time he deserves every award going !! Legend

Wow, where to start with this one?

Ederson was the coolest cat in Manchester and should have an assist this morning. Never ruffled.
Boulders looked world class and Dias should, as Jenas suggested, be re-named Mount Dias after a captains performance that galvanised the rest.
Speaking of not being ruffled, Walker just makes it all look ridiculously easy. I don't think any PSG player got past him over the two legs.
Then on the other side we saw Zinchenko having the match of his life. Kept Neymar quiet, then Di Maria, then both of them at the same time. Instrumental in both goals and took no shit from anyone.
In our engine room Gundogan, Fern and Bernardo were more reliable than a toyota. Fernandinho's nouse and reading of the game, combined with his ability to piss off the opposition once again saw half the PSG players lose their heads.
Up at the business end of the pitch we have The Prince prowling around, knitting things together, probing and pressing with the air of a man possesed with a desire to win win win.
Flanked by two players blessed with so much skill and football finery it sometimes makes me wanna cry. Mahrez most definitely shook off his ffs tag and Foden, well, it was the night the boy became a man.
Behind all of them is a man of integrity and intelligence that has taken the whole game and turned it into a thing of beauty. He's built a City team that is, without doubt, the best i've ever seen.
Nobody stood out as motm because, to a man, they all stood out. So just this once i am giving it to every last one of 'em.

They were all brilliant, what shone through was the spirit and togetherness of the team / squad - all fighting for each other typified for me by Bernardo - not at his most creative last night but the guy ran his balls off and then some.

Hard to pick a MOTM, probably Dias for me but I thought Zinchenko had his best game for us last night by some distance and I was well pleased for him.

I just can't highlight one of them above the others. To a man they were all utterly magnificent. I was really nervous at the start of the match, but fuck me, at the end I was bursting with pride. Supporting City all these years has been one hell of a ride.

Fantastic Team performance all round. But there were 3 stand outs without a doubt and for me it has to be the Trooper that is Ruben Dias. Immense bravery, robustness, leadership and quality on the ball he as got it all. Finally, someone to shelve the legend (if ever we could) that is Vincent Kompany.

I went for Dias.

Incredible to think he's only been at the club for about 8 months!

That defensive performance last night was as good as any that Kompany did. I bet his body is covered in bruises from all the blocks.

A magnificent player!
