My eldest has got me jogging 5k in the morning on one of these somewhere in worsley. Has anyone else done one?? Can unfit dads turn up in random running kit and odd socks or is it full of decent runners??

It'll be a complete mix. Click here to look at last week's results for Worsley http://www.parkrun.org.uk/worsleywoods/results/latestresults/

They're are normally well organised and becoming very popular. Have you registered and printed your barcode?

I think the bloater in last place must have been just wandering around feeding the ducks, 49 mins for 5k is hardly a run

Its pissing down so at least the fairweather wankers will still be in bed and Monton roundabout wont resemble a fucking car park.

Fuck running,get in the gym.

Worsley Woods is my favourite local Park Run.

Put your-self at the back at the start and go off very easily,

It's better to slowly pass people than be passed.

I love running, done it for years and never had a problem, woke up with a sore and stiff knee few weeks back that will not stop hurting. I'm starting to think I will never run again ever.

Me and my daughter do the worsley one quite often, great course.Always people there who aren't really runners so dont feel intimidated. Register online <a class="postlink" href="http://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/form/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/form/</a> and print off your bar-code,once you pass the finish post they scan your card and you get your time texted to you. Great set up and its free !! Oh and wear your colours.

Really enjoyed it - no fuss and nice course. Took ages mainly as ran with daughter who spent 10 minutes finding a tree to wee behind. Was fun and will definitely do again. When the winner ran past us - lapping us he was like a giraffe. Think it was done in about 17 minutes. Wore my city hoody like a chav.

Taking the kids trampolining now to jump nation - 76 quid to trampoline for 2 hours!! Mrs ww 2 is off marrying people and mrs ww 1 is on afloat at gay pride so a full day of kids. Keeping me fit and skint.

Doing this again down at Worsley tomorrow - aiming for 30 mins for 5k! In my City kit if anyone is doing it!

what time does it start

Parkrun is a wonderful idea. At basic level it encourages people to participate in exercise, so it is pretty broad spectrum and attracts all types.
For serious runners it provides a timed race with marshals.
Another competitive element is the reward of tee shirts for notching up mile stones at 25, 50, 75 and 100 races completed.
Lots of people I know are doing different parkruns and "collecting" venues (ie like the 92 club at football)
