Parking outside your own house

Whoa... you actually have a drive?

You lucky man.

Some people don't know they are born.

I live on a terraced street with a single road, houses facing each other... add to this a Pub with the Landlord parking everyday, beer deliveries and all of his customers parking outside my house aswell.

Most Residents have cars, one resident has a big caged van for scrap collecting and a land rover parked on the street.... added to this a retired lady who has an empty disabled parking bay right outside her home (which very rarely gets used)

I park my car on another estate, takes me a few mins to get to my car (which I don't whinge about)

I'd bite your hands off right now for an house with a drive and this parking "problem" you have.

...knock on his door...when he answers, punch him in the throat and tell him to keep his f'ing car out of the street...

hope this helps...

This would be my option don't talk to my neighbours anyway.

I would knock on with the intention of being amicable and calm but i can get very heated quite easily (hence why im posting this on here to blow off some steam). I don't want to go upsetting people just yet as its the first house the mrs and I have bought.
First house I bought was a terrace in the grove, I was lucky if I could park on the same street, pissed me of big time. I've never bought a house with out parking for 3 or 4 cars since

It isn't very neighbourly but if he's not considered your parking situation then he's probably a ****.
Ask him nicely, it should only take once if he's reasonable. If it doesn't work, smear dog shit on his door handle

Complete nightmare on our street (a cul-de-sac). Every house has a drive and a garage but half the nimrods here have about three cars each.

Just moved into a new house with a drive big enough for one car. We have two cars so we have one on the drive and one parked out front. Now, my neighbour also has two cars but a smaller drive so he parks half way onto my side of the house which means i have to struggle to parallel park to get my car outside the house. Sometimes he's parked that far across onto our side i have to leave my car further down the street. He does this so his car isn’t over his drive and his Mrs can come and go as she pleases.
He’s retired so hardly goes out except when we’re at work so his car is parked half way outside our house all day/night. The final straw came today, my dad came round while he was out so he parked upto the fence post. When my neighbour got back he had to park across his own drive. When my dad left, my neighbour must have come out of his house, pulled his car forward onto our side and gone back in.

To say i’m annoyed is an understatement, he must be able to see me and the Mrs struggling to park outside our house or has seen our cars parked down the street yet still parks half way outside our house just so his Mrs can get on and off their drive without him having to move his car!!

Anyone one had any similar problems with their neighbours and how have you dealt with it?

oh yes, the bastards next to me park there cars as close to my driveway and sometimes it causes a bit of shit. she the cow thinks that she can do whatever she wants, parked across my drive and I said I need to get out she just went indoors, knocked on door and said to her husband move the car or it gets trashed, soon moved it. did it stop her did it fuck, next time she did it, I just got police involved and he said she can't stop me going out of my drive but she could park very near the drive way as long as Ive got enough room to get in. told him if she parks anywhere near in future she might get a nasty surprise with her car. anyway he talked to them and the last 2 years they haven't parked close to drive way in fact they park a fair bit off

Become unemployed then when the old git goes for his sterident tablets pinch the spot back(which isn't technically yours) and leave your 2nd car there,it will start to rot because you have not got a job then the twat will get the council to remove it and hey bingo he has his space back.
