Ghost are a great example. They actually write decent tunes and to those that don't know them could easily be mistaken for a serious band. To a degree I suppose they are but there's no denying they're really just having a laugh.

Ghost are great, you’re right - nobody takes the image less seriously than them themselves either. There are a lot of rock/metal bands like that, they take the music seriously but the lyrics, themes and image are deliberately tongue in cheek (Maiden to an extent, Sabaton, Anthrax...)

This song is one of the best songs about football going.
"Moynihan brings out the hooligan in me" is about Colin Moynihan, the then minister for sport who (unsuccessfully) tried to introduce ID cards for football fans in the late 80's / early 90' s
