It is silly to allow him to go to someone else just because he may not get into our first team quicker. The most important thing is we develop him so that when he does play for the first team he is ready to perform.

I didn't mean that we should have allowed him to go to the Dippers. I was looking at it hypothetically from the point of view of his development. We obviously have to do what is best for our club and there is no one more pleased than me that he has signed for us.
