Yeah but if he plays for your 2nd team he gets coached by old boys network neanderthals who will teach him to sit back and defend for most of the game then leg it, and purely be after results over football intelligence, then if he gets in your first team squad, he gets Brendan.

Like most borderline Liverpool 'fans' he will be most likely choose City for the future. There will be truckloads of academy players coming through at City btw, it's just that the best ones have been too young & we haven't been in the position to risk it, with a bunch of clubs courting Platini to try & stitch us up. We need quick success in order to fight back.

The academy isn't there for show, it's key to the long term plan of Sheikh Mansour.

If Roberts is good enough he'll play for City, if not, we will find him a club that suits him.
This seems to be something that people don't seem to realise about the aims and function of the academy. Most people tend to think that the academy is there for the sole purpose of providing world class players to the first team. IMO it's not. For me the academy is just one of the revenue streams put in place by the ownership to progress the club to profitability and self sustainability. It will provide some players to the first team if they are deemed to be good enough, but mainly, it will be a factory whereby we buy potential that we develop as far as we can and sell on to teams of the appropriate level for a profit. We can already see this in action with the career paths of Denayer and Hiwula as the latest examples.

Sorry that is rubbish! The academy is there to produce our own talent first and foremost! The by product is that if they don't make it with us, then it is possible we will make a profit from selling them on.

Jason Denayer has just signed a 5 year contract! He has not been sold on!

Surprised we're looking a yet another wide forward. We have sterling, navas, lopes, ambrose, barker, possibly de bruyne, seems bit congested for yet another young player to join.
