Southampton were rumoured to want him but any full season in the premiership with a team who would want to loan him would be 10 x more beneficial to his career than 6 games in the champions league and a season in that one team league.

If Roberts has pushed for this move rather than a season in the premiership on loan then I'm afraid he has no belief in himself at the top level and time to get the best fee and maybe buyback/sell on clause we can.

I just think 18 months at Celtic at young age where he has probably made quite a few friends and the fans adore him as a kid you cant blame him wanting no more than that.

its not what i think, but if he had shown a bit more to pep then maybe he wouldn't be back off to the backwaters of scottish football
