Patrick Viera - really starting to look the part

I thought he was brilliant.He covered every blade of grass in the centre circle.
If we had another 12 midfielders like him we could boss the middle of the park!
 
wow i'm speechless, nearly as bad as the other week when walking back to my car there were 2 old blokes talking to each other about how well RSC runs they said he almost glides accross the pitch his runnung style is effortless

He is at least a yard if not two yards too slow and struggling with the pace in the premier midfield but this could be his age or just getting back to full match sharpness.
We all know he is not one for the future but he did make some very good telling passes last night and no I don’t need to go to specsavers and in a midfield three (two other players doing a lot of the running for him) he may just give us that elusive extra bit of midfield craft.
He created the important first goal, yes he did make some bad passes but he made some very good ones.
Would have loved him five years ago, He is never going to "look the part" he is to old for that, but he may be able play the part with help

Give over. You've clearly been ground down by watching City for too long and accepting mediocrity. Their midfield ghosted past him time and again and he offered little going forward or in defense. He played a couple of decent through balls but that is it. Our transition into a trophy winning side will not be served by Viera occupying one of the most important berths in the team.

The OP was obviously a wum. Anyone bold enough to create a thread like this and truly believe what they're typing would stick around and post the odd reply. We have seen nothing from the OP since the thread started, most likely because he's sniggering in a corner or realises NO-ONE agrees with him.

The people who booed are still wankers, I thought vieira was well poor but would never boo him.
 
It was blatantly obvious that the game passed Viera by - time and time again he got found out, be it giving away posession or just generally being off the pace.

Wigans midfield had far too much room - if we play him against Utd, Spurs et al, he'll get found out.

I never like watching top class players who come to the end and start getting the run around of players who could never lace their boots. I want every city player to do well,but it's as plain as day that he is finished. Our days of signing 30 odd year old players who want one last payday should be long gone.
 
To me, it seems Vieira's mind is still as sharp as it ever was and he played 3 or 4 first time balls last night that were class (and he did make the first goal). Unfortunately, he's lost ground in his legs and, when closed down quickly, he loses possession by getting tackled or rushing his pass. In the run-in, I can't see the pace of games slowing down, so he's going to have his work cut out, particularly when he starts games.
 
He was a midfield collossus during his time with arsenal but it is now obvious time has caught up with him.Not just out paced but out muscled by average
centre mids.Still the odd nice pass but unfortunately on the wane.

agree with this, he wont run around and dominate midfields anymore but get the ball to his feet and he still as the mind to pick out a pass, by far are best passer we have and will be important in these last few games. The way some of the city fans have been speaking about him and just not willing to give him a chance is a disgrace
 
Are you lot having a laugh seriously, he was by far our best player yesterday, every pass he made went straight to a blue shirt, not once did he pass it either out of play or to a wigan player, seriously one of the best midfield performances ive seen not only from him but from anyone in a blue shirt, absolute top class, he even linked in going forward with his thunderous shot from outside the box which their keeper did well to hold on to, i have never seen a city player put as much effort in than Vieira did last night, talk about sprinting after everything, hands down the best performance ive seen from a city player.

Mancini - Italian International - Numerous honours and medals obviously rates him highly.
Gary Speed who I spoke to after the game and thought Vierra added control, calm and vision

If a young player had played as little as Vierra or had come over from a slower league - I think people would be more understanding of the few misplaced passes towards the end.
He got another good 90 mins in last night and thought he did ok.
