Paul Gascoigne - terrible waste

Love the story of when he went and did Koeman with a Cruyff turn after Barca had just signed him and he asked him how much Barca paid for him

Did you see gazza play in his prime because if you didn't. Your opinion isn't worth a lot.

And talking about what he achieved his career is missing the point. Beckham achieved much more than gazza achieved was he a better footballer. Not to anyone who saw them both play.

And talking about how he didn't play for a top club doesn't make him a lesser player. Man United wanted to sign him.

The fact of the matter is that is he had been England's most influential player since Bobby Charlton.

Even past his prime he was running games for England against
Holland and Italy.

Phil foden has yet to doing anything for England against top class opposition.

Paul Gascoigne has yet to do fuck all for any team other than England mate.

At 21 gazza was playing for a mediocre spurs side. Foden is playing for the best team in the world. A well oiled machine. Not a fair comparison.

I have never said gazza was the greatest player of all time and I don't deny the fact that foden is an exceptional footballer.
He couldn't have got a sniff in anything better than a mediocre side mate. He would have been sitting on the bench for any decent team because outside of technique he just didn't have what it took to play for the best clubs.

Koeman is another example of a player who achieved far more and was, ultimately, far better than Gascoigne- at least in the eyes of most people...

I mean, Koeman's arguably got a better gallery of goals and he's a centre-back.

Each to there own mate

Gascoigne is the one player that got everyone off their seats when he got the ball, many say if he had gone to United he would’ve done so much more, I agree but for a limited time, whiskey nose wouldn’t have put up with antics too long, look at Stam, Beckham, Sharpe to name but a few. The line between genius and nutter is a very thin line.
