Paul Lake

I cried like a baby at his testimonial (i'm a chick so i'm allowed to). I loved him and was gutted when he retired. I wish him well for his future. Glad he stayed in football.
Full grown men did that day as well yes it was allowed!!

The guy was pure class. I used to gain entry into the old player's lounge after every home game, courtesy of Helen Turner (RIP) and Lake always had time for anyone and everyone (as did all the lads back then really - which was amazing as a ten year old in awe of all my heroes). A colossal talent and I get really gutted for him everytime I see a thread like this. Its overwhelming for me, so fuck knows how he got through it.

Love ya, Lakey xx

I was sat in the main stand that night against Villa. It was one of those moments you just instantly know that something is seriously wrong but at the time it never occurred that it would ultimately end his career. It still find it hard to comprehend that such a talent never got the chance to fully flourish, certainly one of the best players to grace Maine Road and one of the best players I ever have had the privilege of seeing playing.

just read all the post about paul made me think about my time on kippax with school freinds .good 2 hear is name.brillant footballer.

It's a bit mad when you read about yourself. Really kind of all the Blues who take the time to speak about me. I know you all appreciate how much it meant to me to wear the sky blue shirt and I'm sure Hughsey will instill that into the current set of lads.

Its been mentioned that I work as a Physiotherapist but I am also trying to eke a career in the Media world and so am starting a weekly City show on August 18th (Tuesday) with Ian Cheeseman on Radio Manchester. Hoping to be as interactive and irreverent as the show will allow, with plenty of 'off the wall' stuff as well as links into the past with some pretty cool archive commentary, where-are-they-now stuff with interviews etc. All about celebrating being a Blue, basically.

We're ironing out the format as we speak in fact. Hope this might provoke some interest and any thoughts of what you guys would like to hear (news, features etc.) As I said, it's more about the positives of being a City fan...

Weren't you saying you aren't a chick before? Which is it eh? Or are you transgender? In which case I apologise for being soooooooo politically incorrect lol

lol i don't think there's a politically correct word to describe me, i'm mostly like a bloke trapped in a chicks body - i think like a bloke, i watch sports, drink pints etc etc but occasionally this female body takes over and makes me emotional, makes me watch chick flicks etc etc lol ;-)

Is this a wind up???
