Paul Lake

The time Paul Lake was out injured was very long. I'm sure it was for you too, I was aching for news that you were fit and ready to play. Another bue of a certain age that has Lake as his favourite City player. City and England were robbed.

You probably won't recall this but my wife was staring at you as you were shopping in St Annes square when you were injured. She thought she knew you but couldn't place you, she's not a football fan. You said hello to her and she replied still not knowing who you were. (She once hugged Noel Edmunds in a resturant thinking it was someone she used to work with and she thinks shes good with faces). It was only when you walked off with a limp she knew it was you and called me at home to tell me. I said I'll look forward to the autograph but she let me down!!

Anyway good luck with the media stuff, hope it works out.

It's a bit mad when you read about yourself. Really kind of all the Blues who take the time to speak about me. I know you all appreciate how much it meant to me to wear the sky blue shirt and I'm sure Hughsey will instill that into the lads eh?
Its been mentioned that I work as a Physiotherapist but I am also trying to eek a career in the Media world and so am starting a weekly City show on August 18th (Tuesday) with Ian Cheesman on Radio Manchester. Hoping to be as interactive as the show will allow with plenty of 'off the wall' stuff as well as links into the past with some pretty cool archive commentary, where are they now stuff with interviews - all to celebrate being a blue! (Ironing out the format as we speak in fact.)
Hope this might provoke some interest and any thoughts of what you'd like to hear, ideas for a bit of banter, limericks, songs, poems and thought provoking stuff (but no negativity!) Be careful out there....

Paul you were a fantastic player mate and deserve every bit of accolade you get, was only young when I used to go to maine road with my old man but remember coming home and pretending to be you in the garden kicking a football around, I imagine I am 1 of thousands of City fans that did the same at the time!

Hope whatever you do works out for you, you know you'll be back by every City fan out there!! (BTW if you ever need any media training just give me a shout LOL) ;-)

When I was a little kid I went to JD sports in the Arndale for a signing with Lakey and Jason Beckford, I barely remember it at all really though my older cousin who was with me says no one else was there, I do remember going to school the next day and making my teacher cry as I refused to wash Lakeys autograph off my arm though!

Lakey the legend...we all were robbed.

Hey Paul can I ask ur thoughts on ur heir apparent,a local lad named Johnson, cursed with injuries?

What advice could u give him to keep him motivated?

We're ironing out the format as we speak in fact. Hope this might provoke some interest and any thoughts of what you guys would like to hear (news, features etc.) As I said, it's more about the positives of being a City fan...

Lakey

Guys, sorry if you thought this was a wind-up last night. Should have maybe registered with my own name but thought I might look like a big time Charlie if I did. But it is me, honest guv!

Thanks for all kind comments, and please feel free to PM me (see, I'm getting the hang of all this techno-speak) if you want to share any ideas about the Radio Manchester show starting August 18th (plug plug).

Lakey

I was lucky enough to get a photo myself in the match magazine a few years ago standing by "Paul Lake" in Canada. Lost the photo and can't be bothered trawling through my match mags.... Not sure what my point was really....
