Paul Pogba

Image rights are important, but there has never been a big transfer which has come down to a sponsors involvement with club and player.
Wrong

An example of this as evidence, Chelsea broke their wage structure to sign Michael Ballack from Bayern Munich in 2006, it just so happened to coincide with Chelsea's switch from Umbro to Adidas, no way that transfer would've happened if Chelsea stayed with Umbro, you've also got to bear in mind Ballack was the Adidas's poster boy at the time.

Hate to say it but would seriously start to worry about the rags if they got Pogba after signing Mkhitaryan, Zlatan and Bailly...Important we stay ahead of the game this summer....

Man United are prepared to break the world transfer record to sign Paul Pogba, and could bid £100m for him. (Source: Daily Telegraph)

Notice the language fella. "could" bid 100m. Shameless, speculative shite as usual.

There are some stats somewhere which show the accuracy of a newspaper's transfer stories. I think the highest one is about 30% but the data range goes back to 2005/2006. I suspect the accuracy is even lower now that all of the newspapers now have an online presence and are desperate for clicks.

Don't give a toss if they sign him, they have money they will sign good players. No doubt they will have a good season, Mourinho tends to do well in his first season but how many ego's can that club contain? we getting players who are coming to learn and develop under the best manager in the world who will work their nuts off not just here for pay cheque. I embrace the challenge!

Telegraph still saying Pogba wants Madrid and are in the lead
It seems likely he does, but money talks. Inter seems to have decided the time is right to sell him. If RM refuse to pay, United will likely get him. RM will have less money available after the ruling yesterday on state assistance to certain Spanish clubs, particularly RM.

Depends who they decide to sell. James is likely I imagine

I agree mate! just hoping this is yet another of those rumours they get wrong!;)

Pretty stupid trying to imagine we can stop Utd buying a team. They have money to spend & can sign who they like, if those players are willing to come.

Pretty sure if Pep saw Pogba as worth the money & we thought he might sign for us, we would go all out for him. Pep is the manager.

We don't however, sign a player because we're worried he might sign for Utd.

I suspect it is just FFP that is stopping us competing for him. The squad needs strengthening elsewhere and there is only so much money to go round. Pogba is a fantastic talent, but we can't afford him this window.

Pogba is talented but not worth £100m and insane wages plus big agent fee he doesn't control games, yes he big and powerful scores the odd screamer and has a few tricks but he's no Zidane in his pomp!

£100m on this guy would be terrible business. Even shirt sales wouldn't be that huge in my opinion.

I really wanted Pogba at City but if he does go to the rags, fuck him. £100m on a player they let go for free less than 5 years ago.

Great bit of business that...

Mourinho confirming in his first press conference:

"We have 3 of our 4 targets, when the fourth joins us I will breath easy, if he joins us it will be before the last day of the window".

Could be Pogba or Matuidi.
