Oh, it's desperate alright. For me, he's in the third tier of players in world football. There's Messi and Ronaldo, followed by Aguero, Bale, Suarez and then a larger group of players who have the potential to be world class, including de Bruyne, Pogba and James. Even in today's ridiculous market, in terms of footballing ability, these players are worth around the £65m mark. It is a gamble and as we've seen with James they don't always work out. Not that they'll give a shit if they win the league.
I hope you're right. The current odds have them as 2nd favs, without the Pogba signing factored in (if it happens). Don't forget they'll get a lot of 'help' next season. You don't spend that kind of money without a media wankfest which inevitably trickles down to our wonderful premier league referees.Nowhere near winning the league, top 4 at best, even if they do sign Pogba.
