Largely because this thread or should I say it's predecessor became almost an institution this time last year and well beyond. Interestingly the majority opinion as far as I recollect was that we should break the bank to get this lad. The price quoted last year was in or around 80M but most folk seemed ok about that. The tide has turned somewhat now and most people are laughing at the rags for spending 100m on a guy they gave away a few years ago. The bottom line is that when he goes there as seems likely he will improve them and marks them down as serious contenders for the title. If the fuckers do win the league the fact that they paid out 200m will be forgotten. Furthermore, if he is a big success they will have an important player for ten years or could flog him in five and get most of their money back. The fact that Sir Bacon Face fucked up 4 in 2012 won't mater one bit then. So hopefully he will be a disaster cause trouble on and off the pitch and end up back in Italy with Mario!!!
