Paul Pogba

Regardless of the outcome, the rags have once again managed to engineer themselves into a corner on this where objectively speaking, they have little to gain.
If they fail to land him, they take another step towards the ignominy that Liverpool have suffered where no serious talent comes knocking any more. Get him, and ignoring the media wankfests that ensue, much to my delight, the Pogba transfer simply masks the fact that they are spending most of this money on trying to maintain their image/save face - a situation that has come about largely because it means they already have to.

All mouth and no trousers is not a wise long term strategy, especially when changes to your ecosystem (TV money) swells and bolsters the growing tide of have a go heroes realising they can get a payoff (exemplified by Wales and more spectacularly so, Leicester), and when the extant superpowers have in the last few months decided to redouble their efforts to avoid the farcical non-show of the previous year.

Personally, I think this whole saga is merely a symptom of a much longer term malaise that at a board level they either cannot see coming or are choosing to ignore in the hope that a combination of their history and big wads of cash can bail them out.

I think, in our terms, that they are entering the Trevor Francis phase.

Great post and fully agree.

Pogba deal collapses and in comes another Raiola player, paving the way for Madrid, has been my theory for a while now........anyone?

New PSG boss Unai Emery says Blaise Matudi can leave this summer. The midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United, and Emery told L'Equipe: "He is a very good player. We have a lot of left-footed defensive midfielders. "If he has the opportunity to leave and if he thinks there are too many midfielders here… But I do not want him to go."

Wouldn't be at all surprised if they bought both.

Found myself chuckling at the radio yesterday the deal has stalled because Raiola wants £15 million
£15 fucking million for what!!!
Thats not what I was laughing at though! Apparently Mthe rags believe Juventus should pay this £15 million and obviously Juventus think the rags should
Now I have an inherent hatred for all things rag and rag like but why on earth would Juventus pay the agents fees for the rags to buy there player that im sure they would quite happily keep if united hadnt pulled there pants down at the first time of asking

So, allegedly.....his agent has cancelled the medical in Miami. This is dragging on now seeing as they're the only club interested at the prices being quoted. Mind you, didn't the KdB and Sterling deals drag on last season, and we were the only club interested in those two as well.

To be fair, a transfer of this magnitude with the money involved is hardly going to be settled quickly. I think it will be resolved before then one way or another, but it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't completed before the season kicks off.

Surely though, with Raiola already putting a few players in there, the rags must of known what sort of percentage/fee he was going to command?
Point being, they would of sorted that before anything else if they thought the fee would be too high.

People say that but the Ronaldo to Real transfer was done and dusted in a week as was Kaka to Real Madrid and pretty much any fucker to PSG. I mean that Brazilian guy was in the airport to fly to Manchester and got a phone call a day later was unveiled as a PSG player. Deals only take long when money is an issue
