Would be hilarious if it fell through but honestly I think they can spend the money far better elsewhere

I agree them spending that money on Pogba, means they don't have it to spend on several other players, which might improve them more significantly.

Thing is this deal is all about return from marketing and Adidas.

If and I really hope Carlton's taking the piss and it falls through they won't be spunking anything like £125m elsewhere.

They might not be spending it in one go, but its highly likely they would spend some of it on other players, that collectively might be more significant.

The good thing is, while they seem focussed on this one, they don't seem to be doing much else, so the longer it drags on the better, and if it does eventually fall through, we can all have a very good laugh at their expense.
