So Matuidi if not Pogba. He's a good player and easier to fit into Mourinho's style of play. Also a Raiola player so easy to get as a fall back option

It's an unbelievable amount of money for a player that's probably worth circa £65m. I admire them for going after him. He's the kind of signing that would give their club a boost and is a show of intent to back up the manager.

Thing is, if they don't get him, it has the opposite psychological effect and they've kind of queered the pitch for other signings. As tolmie said earlier, this was their Neymar/Bale money. If they offer £100m for this player and fail, how much would they have to offer for a Neymar or Bale? I'd say £150m to open negotiations in transfer fee alone. The same goes for someone like Gabriel Jesus. £30m to us is £50m for the rags.

This is why you should haggle over everything. If you don't, you get your pants pulled down. I honestly wouldn't mind them getting him at the figures quoted. He's a good player, and we can't stop them signing good players, but he isn't a difference maker like Bale or Neymar.

Not sure how the taxation works, but that's only 30% tax innit?...I would have thought a higher bracket comes into play...
