Paul Scholes - Has 'left' Oldham (p20)

When you look at united's legacy to the wider game in the last decade; it’s wank, relatively speaking.

Both shite managers and substandard players coming from the within club, generally, in the last ten years, or so - following a golden period for united; Ronaldo being a clear, obvious and outstanding exception.

None of those other players from that era (Piquet apart, and he shouldn’t count) have contributed meaningfully to the game beyond united. The club is fucked. Rotten from the inside.

The Glazers don’t have a clue what they’re doing in terms of running a football club. So many people have had their trousers down: Ferguson, Woodward, Sanchez to name but three. Good as vulture capitalists, but that’s about it.

I am sure now he has some experience under his belt, he is destined for much higher...

The big one perhaps....

You've got that right, he ended....

Yet there is sadness too - sadness that Scholes couldn't make his dream job work, and sadness that one of those most gifted players of his generation should find himself on the outside again when surely, there is a role for him inside.

Inside what?
