During the Cheesy interview Simmo mentioned some fans had gotten into the dressing room at half time against Notts County wanting to remonstrate with the players. We were 3-0 down. Made me laugh. They must've been livid. Apparently big Mick McCarthy was the only one interested in arguing with them. Be interesting to see of any bluemooners know about this incident or had friends involved.

Weren't they all dressed as clowns or some fancy dress? My memory of that day was the pub bar beforehand collapsing with the weight of thirsty blues. Luckily I had 2 pints in hand before said chaos.

The Cumberland News ran an interview with him a couple of weeks ago. Apparently now recovered from his cancer and now fit & well again. No longer with Bristol City and available for employment within the game.

Had the pleasure of meeting him at a memorial game for one of his ex-Oxford United colleagues in October. A really, really nice guy and pleased to report he looked very fit and healthy considering what he’s been through. Long may it continue
