Comparing players from different eras is futile. Pele was undoubtedly the greatest of his generation. As was Cruyff, Maradonna, Zidane and now Messi. Arguing over the greatest of all time can’t be done. Rocky Marciano was undefeated but had he met Cassius Clay who knows what would have happened. Jack Nicklaus vs Tiger Woods?
