I am not unsympathetic to the manager's situation, but this pre season is/was vital. Not just important, vital. The club is in transition and the season is just a month away.

the funeral is tomorrow, and according to this, he'll return to the pre season tour shortly after the funeral.

Very sad to hear about this, and if I was one of the bigwigs at City,
I'd give him as much time off as he feels is right. I think we'll see
