There is nothing wrong with Pelegrini. He is doing fine. People just need someone to moan about. Go back to the Mancini years, and every problem being stated now we're being moaned about then too.
Let's outline some of the complaints.
Why is Sterling not starting? Well he put him in today, and Sterling promptly gave up almost every pass to him
Delph should be a starter, Pelegrini is too dumb to realize it. Well he started Dwlph, had a stormer the first game, mostly stunk it up this one. Going balls away, running up field every second he got and leaving the lazy Yaya with the job of actually chasing Westham players all over the pitch. Eder Valencia chased down tackled by Yaya in the box, Kouyoute slide tackle by Yaya, Interception of Payet in our box by Yaya. While Delph was mostly too excited to join the attack. And that's why he doesn't play.
Why doesn't he sub Yaya? Same reason why he often doesn't sub Silva until lately, they are both far superior to what's on the bench.
Start Kelechi more? As much as I agree with this, I reckon if he messed up in one game and his confidence gets crushed, his development may stall. Sure I disagree, but I'm not stupid enough to pretend I don't understand the reason behind it.
Why can't he fix the defense? The defense is actually pretty decent. Concedes fewer shots than almost every other team in the league. Makes you wonder what our fans would be saying if we had the defense of one of the 18 other teams we are better than. It's narrow minded silliness to be fair.
So what's our problem then? Well that's simple, our best players are not performing. And most of that has been due to injury. I mean we pulled out a draw in a game we had no business being in because our biggest star produced. When Silva can't pick out a simple pass, talk less a magical one, Yaya isn't bombing forward and scoring magic goals, Kompany is in the stand instead of on a striker, Dihno on the mend, Zaba just got back, Nasri on the mend.
There is little Pelegrini can do about that. But I know it's popular to woman about him and blame him. Pele was second last year and he is currently 3rd (assuming Arsenal will at least get a point). The team that was 1st, lies in the 2nd half of the table, after being coached by a guy half of the Pelegrini haters wanted as Pellars replacement. He too has a star studded squad just like ours. We are still playing ok, they've melted away though. But hey, it's all Pellars fault here, but the players for Chelsea.
Pellars is a good coach. And will go as far as the talent at his disposal let's him.
