Pellegrini's Targets And Expectations

Pellegrini will be replacing Tito at Barcelona.
Barca have been talking to his agent too and they made the leaks to force Pellegrini to issue a denial that he was coming to us.
It has all the paw marks of a Real Madrid / Barcelona stitch up according to my former Spanish workmates in Madrid (mostly Athletico fans).

So are you confirming that Jose is coming to City and bringing Ronaldo with him? I know how to read between the lines mate. Nice one. Cheers.

Champions,and FA Cup....

well according to a Rag associate only because of work, Pellegrini is 59 and not won a thing and only here for two years, he also went on to mention that City are just like Chelsea and are now in decline......lol and get this the owners have failed and are only in it for short term glory hunting .......it gets better, " i would sign Brendan Rodgers because he has a BIG future"

I then highlighted to him that reading the Star and Sun was very misleading and dangerous to ones health
his reply was "Uh i read the Guardian/Times".............now that is definitely worth a YCNMIU!

Spend 200m in a season win nothing oh wait he did that at Real Madrid, i'm seething at this inevitable appointment, i can barely contain my anger.

This will be a disaster he has won nothing despite managing Real Madrid and has no experience in England and is 60 years old this year, what on earth do they see in him?

Not the most subtle way to say you're a rag in your first post.

Solid first post, I look forward to more insights like this.

About as subtle as an earthquake..

Also don't forget rag that he led Real Madrid to their highest ever points total in La Liga.

Malaga this season in Primera Liga

Not brilliant reading really.

This guy won the Intertoto Cup over 9 years ago and nothing else. Malaga if they weren't banned, wouldn't even if qualified for Champions League.

I can't see why he's even in the running.

He hasn't been appointed yet.

I would piss myself if he turns us down and we ended up with Rafa.
Fucking piss myself.

If that were to happen we would HAVE to sack the two Spanish clowns and crawl back to Mancini on bended knee.

Sheik Mansour..Franny Lee. .Peter Swales.. the more things change, the more they stay the same.

End up Rafa's, Fat Spanish waiter, you're just a fat Spanish waiter.

For one I'm a little sick of reading this "we're becoming a club that sacks managers over n over"... I don't think that is the mentality of the club and I don't think its fair to be so shallow about what has been happening and I think its fair to say, things have been sinking quite rapidly behind the scenes and out of sight of fans and media. You must be blind to think the players were not happy this year and responding to Bobby's methods. Everyone can see he was out of his depth in Champions League games with some horrible tactics (lack of) and terrible decision making and he just had this mind set that "I have 200 million worth of players... throw them out there, they will score goals! shut the fuck up hart and save goals" was doomed for disaster and the sack from the get go.

I always liked Bobby and give all due respect, but its up and fwd onto bigger and brighter things! That doesn't mean City has become the new chelski twin of a club with a revolving door of managers.

The prospect of Pellegrini signing up in the coming weeks and if the rumours be true of our potential signings, it's exciting times to be a city fan. Fuck the rags!

Took Real Madrid to their highest ever point totals, his Villarreal record is very impressive and Malaga would be like QPR is at the moment with more money than sense if it was not for him.

Lets not forget the only reason he did not win trophies with Real Madrid was he was facing an almost unplayable Barcelona squad at the time which was crafted by Txiki and Soriano.

I am as upset about Mancini as everyone but keep the faith in Txiki.. He is the known as the best Director of Football in the business for a reason.

I'm no expert on Spanish football, but even I know that it's almost next to impossible to win A Spanish domestic trophy unless you are Barcelona, or Real Madrid. Valencia managed it briefly.

Real Madrid and Barcelona get an even bigger slice of the TV revenue in La Liga than the English top 4. Much bigger.

On the one occasion Pellegrini managed a club capable of winning trophies he got a record poinjts haul, and was only beaten narrowly by Pep's FCB.

I also remember he produced a very good side at Villareal who are a tiny club. And this ent on for a few years. If you look a little deeper into what he has done, you will be impressed.

He's done more than Moyes for a start.

At his current club he was initially given a big transfer budget, but the monies still dried up, yet once again he produced a good team.

He does have a blank on his CV in regards to trophies, but when you look at who he has managed you can see why.

Malaga are La Liga's equivalent of Pompey so to achieve anything under those circumstances is quite astonishing. They were one dodgy decision away from the CL Semi and most of us would snatch his hand off for that next season.
Europe for me is not as important as winning games each week and competing for the League title

Not if it meant not winning a domestic trophy.
