I was very surprised that Tevez did not take the spot kick yesterday, there has seemed to be a pecking order dependant who is on the pitch, Balo, Aguero,Tevez so how did Dzeko take it in front of Tevez.

I know anyone can miss but I was certainly surprised it was Dzeko the stepped up.

He did indeed Liverpool at home in the 3-0 win I dont think Mario or Sergio were on the pitch at the time though.

With regards to Dzeko, I have no problem whatsoever with a centre forward wanting to take the pens, his effort yesterday was piss poor though.

I was actually pleased when I saw Edin stepping up ... as Tevez has, in general, looked awful on pens over the last couple of years !

In retrospect Jimmy was probably the best man for the job yesterday.

Milner is a really good penalty taker. The order should be balotelli, aguero, Milner, tevez/Barry. All this depends on who is on the pitch at the time.

This ties in with the thread last week about us seemingly not having designated free-kick takers for certain situations. If Mancini picked Dzeko to take penalties yesterday, then fair enough, but it really should be a decision that is made and known by all the players before the game.

There was only one player who should have took that penalty yesterday and that was Milner, Tevez has missed 3 of his last 4 I think, no Balo and no Aguero, I also wonder if these things are sorted before the game if they are not it is the lack of attention to detail no matter how small that could cost us the title in the long run, as mentioned by others above Dzeko would have been 5th or 6th for the penalty for me
