Penalty Takers

Milner should have taken it all day long... He is well good at pens.

Soon as Dzeko stepped up i thought why is he taking it. Sick of the amount of chances we miss.

The second half performance of our strikers wasnt good enough.

Hit the nail on the head mate! - Had shed loads of opportunities but simply didn't kill the game off like we could have!

I was screaming for a third as that would have killed the game completely, at 2-0 le arse still believed they could have nicked a point..

This ties in with the thread last week about us seemingly not having designated free-kick takers for certain situations. If Mancini picked Dzeko to take penalties yesterday, then fair enough, but it really should be a decision that is made and known by all the players before the game.

Had he had nine more penalties to take in that match Edin would have buried each one! It's just a pity that of his ten daily pens, he starts with the one he's gonna miss!

Dzeko seemed a strange choice to take the penalty ..... it would appear that he's missed something like three out of four that he's taken at Wolfsburg/City ... and maybe Milner or Tevez would have been a better bet , as others have said.

Having said that he was a bit unfortunate that the ball hit the post and fell kindly for the keeper.

Yes but he was fortunate for it to bounce off the 'keeper and even get close to going in. Poor penalty.

Easy to say that as you can never be proved wrong because he will never get the opportunity to take one again.

Looked like "my foul, my penalty" !

Would never have dzecko take them, tevez, milner on the pitch was and obvious choice

I'm not sure, Dzeko is not the man I'd trust to save my life with scoring a penalty.

For me:

1. Balotelli
2. Tevez
3. Milner
4. Aguero

I think Aguero isn't a good penalty taker at all, he's too casual, just seems to try and place it. Begovic got a hand on the last one and I think it wont be long before one's saved. I think players who smash it for one of the corners or down the middle seem to do the best, obviously excluding Balotelli because he's something else.
