People whinging about 'Wonders of the Universe' now...

What I would say is i'd rather license fee's go towards that than dancing with the stars and 95% of the other stuff I DON'T watch on the BBC! This is exactly where they should be pumping the money in, documentarys and educational stuff!

These people watch programs just to find something to moan about. They rub there hands with glee everytime a new top gear comes out

For the program about time, he could have sat down next to his sandcastle and said "The direction of time is governed by the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Fact. End of." because the rest of it was mere filler and posh graphics.

But the program last night about the creation of all the elements was rich in content (if you'll pardon the pun). Shame he touched on the one of the most important topics (viz. the creation of amino acids in space and distribution through meteorites) right at the end but that's often the way with these things.

I think he's alright Coxy.

I found it interesting, and Brain Cox is an easy listen.

As for the licence fee and the cost's involved in making the programme, it's the sort of programme the BBC will sell all over the world and make a tidy profit on.

The BBC have a well deserved reputation in making natural history and science programmes of the highest quality, and they pump millions into them because they know they will make a profit.

This. These are the programs that sell - not dancing on celebrity ice jungles. And these are the programs which somewhat justify the fee.

But the main reason he goes to all these exotic locations is so he can teach us properly about the universe. He uses these picturesque destinations as analogies that I can easily understand (the ice freezing the water, the sand-castle). He makes the universe seem a lot smaller and less complex than it actually is purely because he takes time to explain it to the viewer. That building that was blown to pieces was used spectacularly to explain just how quickly a star implodes on itself.

And plus, I really like his voice. I think his voice is just excellent. It's calming, quiet, but still easy to hear.

I love Brian Cox - he's the only person in the world who can say 'and that's why I love Chemistry almost as much as Physics' and still be cool.
