Pep’s Spurs (H) Post-Match Interview

Oh yes he has done that alright, but I'll be the same supporting bloke on Sunday, shouting and screaming my bollocks off to help the team
Well then, Pep wasn’t talking about you! And hopefully his words get everyone else to be more like you.

They were dreadful in the first half man. Those fans had every right to boo.

Bullshit.

The entitlement of feeling you've a right to boo the team in those circumstances is exactly what Pep was, rightly, calling out from our fans.

We're not entitled to win anything. We need to support the team, to help them.

[Gotta say, though, I didn't actually notice any booing myself. I did have my head in my hands though, so may have just missed it]

Just watched Micah response to pep after Match interview! Said sound like he has had enough! Micah you been with Carragher to long you 100% wrong and so so out of touch with Manchester City! Your playing the crowd! Totally disappointed with him

You say it wasn't uo to our standards but I think in recent years our support is not up to the standards of the football we have been blessed with
Demographics of our support is part of the reason I'm afraid to a certain degree, they need to pay real close attention to the fanbase they want to attract when the north stand is redeveloped, trouble is, if they want silly money for ST's then its going to be more happy clappers I'm afraid, they have to go down the SS3 route on prices imo.

The irony of it all is.,

The same people who are praising Pep for the interview in which he claims it’s happy flowers for everyone and everyone is too comfortable and claiming it has ruffled feathers and put the fire back in the belly are the same ones criticising fans for letting the players and Pep know the only way they can that the performance is not good enough by booing.

The fans who booed last night are the ones who weren’t happy that standards weren’t being met, the same reason Pep bashed them at half time.

0-2 down at half time looking at our 3rd defeat in a row and potentially 11 points behind come Sunday, what is the crowd supposed to do? Sing a chorus of “we’ve got Guardiola?”

Hindsight is 20/20 now, but things looked increadly bleak before that 2nd half turnaround.
I saw this quote from Pep
"It's the same with our fans, they are silent for 45 minutes. They booed because we were losing, not because we played badly. We played good, we had more chances, expected goals from Tottenham is 0.89 so we were better."

Dreadful? I really didnt see dreadful. You're so bleak about our team.

Pricing out the working class fanbase due to extortionate ticket prices isnt going to help unfortunately. They wont be able to afford it and either the gloryhunters will take their place, or there'll be empty seats.

Club needs to to be doing their bit too!
I just do not get this working class thing.
Still looks like to me most fans in our home support are working class.
I have never met any fan that is not working class in the bus or tram pre or post match.

I bet the players got a bit of a shock hearing Pep complain about their lack of passion, fight and desire. Considering they had just completed an amazing second half fightback.

He's not talking about the second half of one game but the season so far. It also wasn't just leveled at the players on the pitch but the whole squad. Foden, De Bruyne, Cancelo, Walker all sitting on the bench and rightly so. World class players who at times this season have been just going through the motions, sloppy, lazy, giving the ball away, not pressing and tracking back like they used to. If they're happy resting on their laurels looking back at what they've achieved in their careers so far, Pep will have them out of the door before they know it, irrespective of their reputation. It's now or never for many in this squad from here on in.

When your pricing model lends itself to tourists, and there were plenty in EL3 last night, you are going to get flat atmospheres. Last night was an ideal opportunity to price the match competitively and appeal to the lapsed/local/young family fans. Over £100 for a parent & child is bang out of order.
It irritates me when multi-millionaire managers/players/owners call out what is a traditionally working class fan base.
We have an aging fanbase and the club need to address enticing the younger fans to the games, who massively add to any atmosphere.
maybe the North Stand expansion will address some of the issues. Who knows?
Totally agree mate tbh, I don't think the club understand what a big local young support this club has now, we've had a decade now of sustained success and have cornered the market now in young kids supporting City, United had it their own way for 2 decades and our fanbase lost its way.£68 for a mid week game is nothing short of a disgrace tbh for the fan who likes to pick and choose games-for me and my 10 year old son its a £150 night out with a bit of food, a hot drink and parking. the club is missing one big trick tbh.
