Pep’s Spurs (H) Post-Match Interview

Pep is 100% right in what he says. But, and this is a big one imo, he is culpable as much as anyone. We have used 11 different combinations at the back this season, 11! That is insane, and it's not been soley due to injuries, he is just constantly fucking around with it. This feeds into the players, it feeds into the fans and it then feeds in also feeds the media. I know he's talking about complacency and things he has seen in training and behind the scenes, obviously we'll never know about that, but on the pitch it's pretty clear we were pretty fluid at the beginning given that we scored loads of goals. We weren't great, i'll give him that, but i'm sure with some work it would have clicked. But he's changed it completely, a number of times, clearly we need to go back to what works and build up from there.

Some might say as well that the boos from the fans gave the players the kick up the arse they needed. I'm sure Pep went at the players at half time against united, chelsea, southampton and we hardly reacted. Maybe hearing the fans not happy with that performance gave them a shock.

Two bang average players.
Have you forgotten about Fernandinho already.
We are missing him more than any other of our greats.
That's the man's big boots we have to fill.
I don't agree that Bellemy was avg however you've missed the point completely.

I was talking about someone with aggression. I'm not even sure that type of player exists anymore.

100% this. It's the only way to let them know it wasn't acceptable. I booed because standards had dropped not because of any sense of entitlement. They needed a kick up the arse. How else do we let them know?

Someone from the Happy Flowers side of our support will reply to this mentioning a League One team in 1998, Stuart Pearce home games 06/07 and four titles in the last five years or whatever else is on the top blue bingo card and call you entitled and spoilt.
You reckon Pep and the team didn’t know they weren’t playing to the level needed until the fans booed? Or that they didn’t care until the fans booed? You think they played better in the second half because the fans booed? And that booing in the future when we go on a very short bad run or are not playing well in a match will lead to better outcomes?

Bit of clarity on peps aftermatch comments.
ie the players , Rico Lewis got fouled continuously and kicked to fuck , not one City player stepped in or stepped up to protect him ie a Fern or Vinny or Zabba . Pep called this out and rightly so , this team has to “fight” .
As for the fan’s comments it was a call to arms for the battle ahead . Pep is a passionate man football is passionate the home fans do need to step up and they will .

No booing no swearing no singing songs about the opposition, what next?

I for one thought the booing had the desired effect on the team or was it all down to Pep's halt time team talk?
I wouldn't like to hear booing on a regular occurrence but we've been poor since the world cup in all honestly and we needed a good kick up the arse after that 1st half showing.
I do however feel the Etihad will be rocking on Sunday now that we've (manager included) all had a good moan and should all be singing from the same hymn sheet

My mate took his lad last weekend for his Xmas present to the San Siro before it is knocked down.

Inter v Verona I think it was.

£200 for the flights and 6 euros each for tickets in the under 30s Ultras zone.

It's 6 Euros whether you are 29 or five, which is why it is the packed, loudest area.

I've spent more than that for a home game and tickets against Fulham.

My mate is a Dipper and goes in the Kop, and he said there was no comparison in terms of the Inter fans and feeling the Club want them there and price accordingly.

Yeah I went to see an AC Milan game there once and paid around 7 euros

Sadly football has priced out a lot of people in England, we all know that and it’s not like that’s going to change anytime soon, only get worse if anything

That said, the stadium is still pretty much filled with fans anyway, so they might as well make some noise while they are there.

I do agree with a lot he said but if he wants an atmosphere he needs to speak to those in charge about ticket prices. I saw Bob Dylan, a once in a lifetime gig, for around how much tickets would have cost last night. That's not right.

He's the best manager this club has ever had, or will ever had.

Look at that fire and ice in his eyes. He cares so, so fucking much. After all he's done.

We need to give him all the support he deserves. He's not on about attendance, he's on about atmosphere.
I've been saying for a while now the atmosphere at home games is shit, I had a guy sat next to me at the Everton game when I was trying to rally the team with "Come on City " who said your wasting your time we don't sing round here, the same guy arrives with 3 or 4 others usually 5 to 10 mins after kick off leaves for the bar a good 5 mins before half time and then leaves 10 mins before the end. Also at the Everton game I noticed the stadium was 2 thirds empty at the beginning of the second half, you could hear the players and managers shouting. To many fans prefer to stay in the bars or on the concourse for a good 10 to 15 mins. I use to be a steward and was shocked when I use to see so many drinking on the concourse after half time.

Pep has basically told us himself in the press for a number of weeks now that certain standards have dropped, Phillips comes back from international duty heavier than when he left, Gundogan also said something is missing, Kev just isn't the same player-certainly after the world cup, Foden's head has fell off recently. Its all a bit strange some of it, but us fans are using the excuse that we are getting used to adapting to Haaland in the team-which is absolute bullshit tbh. So maybe the fans are booing because Pep has told us some home truths in the past few weeks, he knows damn well the supporters can see it, so dont throw your dummy out of the pram Pep when they get some home truths off the fans. Its a cop out blaming the support tbh.
