Its a piss easy group and 1st group stage game is probably our least important game all season. Don't know why he is worried about Shakhtar.

Probably because he is not complacent and doesn't dismiss others by referring to them as " piss easy " games or groups ?

He has to show Shakhtar respect because: (a) they are a decent side, (b) he wants points on the board to potentially give flexibility later, and (c) two consecutive defeats would be a blow.

Nothing is piss easy, mate.

It's a forum about City and the great man fucked up yesterday. Not really advice is it when even Pep must know he picked the wrong team. Not quite sure why he's bothered about our Champions League group as it's shite.
Did he ? you don't think the players he picked should have beaten Norwich ?

But we have no margin for error in the league. Realistically we can drop 20 points all season in the champions league we can probably afford to lose 2 games and still win the group.

He rested one player, that had played internationals and needs to be looked after. A player we got 98 points without last season. You don't think the 11 picked should be good enough to beat a decimated Norwich ?

The sane majority are fully aware that there's nobody better on the planet for us than him but there should be no controversy when we hold him to the same standard that he holds himself and his team.

This. A great manager gets the vast majority of things right - but never all. There’s not a soul on here who questions his credentials or thinks they know better than Pep over the long haul. He doesn’t make random decisions. He does make some that are open to question.

Reasoned, positive criticism is a good thing. OTT criticism isn’t. And nor is treating him as infallible.

Agreed. We can make one or two changes for Shakhtar but just not treat it as an unimportant fixture and take anything for granted. If we can build a commanding lead in the group, that’s the time to go a little easier.

He hadn't played since Monday from memory? Of course it should be but it wasn't. Why do we never see Bernie playing centrally anymore? It was an unnecessary decision to leave him out of that game for me I'd of rested him Wednesday if needs be

Yes but that's not really the point. It wasn't our strongest team and that game yesterday should have been the priority. A midfield that can't run would have been better used in Europe where we're not up against a team that rarely drops points
