So I think the tactic last night was for Jesus, Mahrez, and De Bruyne to combine and create overloads on the centre-right of the pitch, with Sterling on the opposite flank being the beneficiary of the free space vacated. Unfortunately United sat too deep and blocked off De Bruyne and Jesus rather well, so there wasn't much Sterling could do well.

The one time it paid off was actually when we did it on the other side with Sterling and Mahrez swapped over in these roles, but sadly Mahrez couldn't finish the chance well enough.

He did it once, and it was the wrong choice of pass because he knew full well nobody would be there.

If he'd dramatically adjusted his tactics for our weaknesses in his 1st season then there's no way we'd have hit the heights of the following two seasons. There's a decent chance that had he backed down from his philosophy we'd be on 5 titles instead of 6.
