He's not being judged on 'one game' though... Poor team selection has been a factor on quite a few occasions and it has cost us at crucial stages of competitions.
If you honestly think he's not made some howlers in team selection, there's no hope for you. Take off the tinted specs and you'll see a bloke who makes the same terrible mistakes over and over again.
I've seen enough of him to think that he's never going to learn. He'll give it a go in the CL next season, fail to win it, then see out his contract by drifting through 2022/23, and walking away.
If the club hierarchy hasn't already got a replacement for Pep 'in the pipeline', it's because they're complacent and probably expect him to 'do a Fergie' by staying at City for 20 years.
