How many times will he be so, so happy and say the guys are incredible in the upcoming interview

I'm convinced Pep has serious doubts about the team's fitness levels. We just can't press any more and COVID and the short preseason play a big role in that. Every team's been affected but as our press is so important to the way we play it hurts us more.

He's never been in a position previously where he has a team that can't press for 90 minutes. I think he's just decided to ensure we're solid and push on from there.
The pressing and intensity are seriously lacking at the moment. Disappointed that Foden was n't brought on for at least the last 20 mins, but Pep decided to stick.

Yep. Foden would have added some real energy, but that increases the risk of counter attack.

If we were fitter, we'd be pressing throughout and be bringing someone like Foden on as soon as tiredness kicked in.

But Pep's decided that we can't do that, and thus no need risking the counter.

Pep is creating a new team. It will take time. He will most certainly succeed. When your star players are not in form or injured out for 4-5 months, it's unrealistic to expect exciting performances.

Foden and Torres are top talents but ain't Silva and Sane yet. Bernardo is struggling for form, Kevin is not quite the same, let alone Raz. But there is no reason to think these problems are permanent and won't be solved. In December we are playing better than in November, in January we will play better than in December. The potential of the team is huge and will be gradually realised.

My feeling is that last seasons defeats have affected him badly, he has decided to be more pragmatic but has gone too far with it.

We are way to slow in our build up and allow the opposition time to get everyone back behind the ball.

In some ways he reminds me of Brian Clough in that he had a way of doing things that works, once he moves away from it the team suffers badly. We should be seeing a lot more of Torres and Foden but he seems afraid to leave out established big money signings.
he’s turned in to mourinho without the quick ball forward counter. Instead we play it slowly, I mean really fucking slowly, Forward.

Tactically brilliant manager , the best around but that team has zero motivation they are just going through the motions , the play to Pep's strict system , where is the passion ? we have lost real leaders in Vinnie , Yaya, Merlin, Zabs and we havent replaced them.
Maybe its not possible to replace these types of players with never say die attitudes , we have witnessed some of the best players that have ever played for our club and that era is now over.
