The pressing and intensity are seriously lacking at the moment. Disappointed that Foden was n't brought on for at least the last 20 mins, but Pep decided to stick.I'm convinced Pep has serious doubts about the team's fitness levels. We just can't press any more and COVID and the short preseason play a big role in that. Every team's been affected but as our press is so important to the way we play it hurts us more.
He's never been in a position previously where he has a team that can't press for 90 minutes. I think he's just decided to ensure we're solid and push on from there.
12 - For every player who got on field ?How many times will he be so, so happy and say the guys are incredible in the upcoming interview
I mean that's his MO. Protect the players in public. Bollock them in private. How many times will he be so, so happy and say the guys are incredible in the upcoming interview
Yep. Foden would have added some real energy, but that increases the risk of counter attack. The pressing and intensity are seriously lacking at the moment. Disappointed that Foden was n't brought on for at least the last 20 mins, but Pep decided to stick.
he’s turned in to mourinho without the quick ball forward counter. Instead we play it slowly, I mean really fucking slowly, Forward. My feeling is that last seasons defeats have affected him badly, he has decided to be more pragmatic but has gone too far with it.
We are way to slow in our build up and allow the opposition time to get everyone back behind the ball.
In some ways he reminds me of Brian Clough in that he had a way of doing things that works, once he moves away from it the team suffers badly. We should be seeing a lot more of Torres and Foden but he seems afraid to leave out established big money signings.
