Pep Guardiola - 2020/21 Performances

Pep is creating a new team. It will take time. He will most certainly succeed. When your star players are not in form or injured out for 4-5 months, it's unrealistic to expect exciting performances.

Foden and Torres are top talents but ain't Silva and Sane yet. Bernardo is struggling for form, Kevin is not quite the same, let alone Raz. But there is no reason to think these problems are permanent and won't be solved. In December we are playing better than in November, in January we will play better than in December. The potential of the team is huge and will be gradually realised.
I agree with a lot of what you have said but they don’t have to be better than Silva and Sane, that would be a huge ask. People are pissed off because we think they are better than Sterling and Mahrez, who are playing every week no matter how shit they are.

It won't happen but Khaldoon and Soriano need to be calling him in on Monday and asking him to explain some of his utterly bizarre tactical decisions this season and last.

It didn't sit well with me that we were all waiting to see if he would sign a new deal, then he does and the club celebrate it like it's majorly exciting news. Imagine that happening with Solskjaer, Arteta, Ancelotti, Moyes etc. It sends the message that the manager is unsackable. Pep has realised this and become complacent. We could finish outside the top 4 this season and can you imagine the club sacking him? I can't, simply because he's Pep and the precident has been set that he decides how long he stays with us for.

If a manager under achieves their job is at risk, regardless of what they did in the past, why should Pep be any different? He is not bigger than the club but he is being treated as if he is. Arsenal went down that road with Wenger and look where they are now.

We’ve seen foden and Torres together once and they ripped Porto to shreds for the 25 minutes it happened.
if love to see them together again more often.

Pep has been criticised for only winning with established teams not building them himself. I think that has validity when I see Mahrez and Rodri perform.

That makes zero sense considering the team he took over at city. It’s a lazy criticism levelled at pep from rival jealous fans. Why any city fan that witnessed the total league domination we dished out for two seasons straight would say that is beyond me.

It’s pathetic. Uniteds home form is shit. If he’s happy with that then we’re fucked.
As I said, his standards are dropping. In the 17/18 and 18/19 seasons he would be pissed off if we dropped a point against anyone, now it seems to be completely okay. He even smiles and says that we were so so good. Nowadays he’s playing not to lose

Going to be interesting against west brom if he starts sterling and mahrez again after he said starts are based on performance. I expect it is more bullshit.

Since his new assistant came in our level of play has gone backwards at quite an alarming rate.

We’re about a third of the way into the league season and he doesn’t seem any nearer to getting any fluency into our attacking play.

I hope he can find a spark from somewhere because at the moment it really feels like he and the team are going through the motions.

We have no choice but to play Raz into form. Regarding Mahrez, yes, he was poor and he won't continue to start big games if he plays like that. Remember Mahrez didn't even make the group against Liverpool. It will take time before Foden and Torres start in most big games. Foden started against Madrid and Torres against Liverpool. Both are starting games every week now. Patience, they will contribute in big games too.

Time will tell who is being realistic and who makes daft criticisms

I had the same conversations with you over a year ago and this was your response:-

“I really hate some of our fans for their idiotic comments here. You can't find a better manager in the world for this group of players and some utter tools come here and post their dumb comments on the guy who created the best team England has seen. You are fucking stupid.”

and we have continued to decline.

Does a year count as realistic or are we still in daft criticisms criteria?

As I said, either a fan boy or an apologist, or both?
