Pep Guardiola - 2022/23

Our starting 11 for the derby will be Ederson Walker Akanji Stones Ake Rodri Bernardo Kdb Mahrez Grealish Haaland. Clearly Pep wanted to rest all of them (Grealish being subbed and Walker playing as CB which is less demanding). I think his tactics were terroble against Chelsea, but today I(and anyone with two brain cells) would've selected the same players.

If your bench is not capable of beating Southampton, then that is a problem. What today showed is that we don't have squad depth and we won't win the Fa cup, but I still think we will win PL and UCL. People will act here like this is the end of the world, but every team in UCL has had rough patches this season.
Terrible inept negative lazy and unimaginative performance
The players need to look at themselves in the mirror
Continually passing back when we are 2 nil done
Without application we will win nothing
So many bad performances this evening
Foden Ake Cancello Phillips Gomez to name but a few

What experiment? We played our bench because we have a derby and PL is more important. Please tell me what experiment we did tonight. The selection today was the obvious one for anyone with two brain cells? It went wrong of course, becaise we don't have squad depth, but we need rotation.

Walker as Cb in a 2 isn't an experiment?
Foden in midfield?

He's having a really poor season. The squad looks totally bereft of any pace and our football is so slow and tedious.

The infatuation with inverted wingers and fullbacks means we're incredibly narrow and have nobody in the squad who can stretch the pitch.

We look rubbish playing this methodical controlled system and if we play it Saturday there will be a similar result. He has to go back to what makes us tick.
It was a revelation but now its an albatross. We are so narrow, congested and slow because of it. I despise the inverted full backs now. He'll play Rico at inverted right back and Rashford will have the whole right side of the pitch to run at unchecked

Dropping players when they find some form isn't helpful. We need some pace, it's far to predictable and dull at times. Could have played another hour and we wouldnt have scored

Yeah, surprises nobody now and unbalances the side

Play your best team pep
Play the players in their position
and tell the players to look arsed!!

We've sold the pace out of the side because of his obsession with control and its left the team slow and painful to watch.

The 2018/19 is a completely different animal to this one.
Remember those first time passes that would shred opponents? That Sane goal against Arsenal? The absolute pinnacle of football.
Now everyone has to take 4 touches before rolling to the guy standing 3 yards away.
