Got it wrong, then got it right. crucially tthough, he got it right at the correct time and didn't do what he's done in the past and waited for things to go wrong before changing it.

Hopefully that's the end of 3 at the back, it doesn't work and leaves us wide open.

Im 99.9% sure 3 at the back is not what he was referring to when he said he got it wrong and it was terrible.

Guess that wasn't related to the back 3, for it worked vs Villa quite well. It was more related to our attempts to beat their press with long balls to Haaland and be more direct, which led to us having 73% pass completion in the first half and Arsenal dominating us.

Yep. He couldn't have been more clear that it was something he tried for the first time today, which means it wasn't the 3 at the back defence, nor Bernardo covering the left channel out of posession.

By the way, the man to man defence did not concede a single shot on target...

I just want to say, Ric, my Pep Talk book came this morning. Thank you!

Here's a bit from the Foreword written by none other than Marcello Lippi.

Pep's work goes beyond something tangible. The legacy he leaves in his teams is much more about the "how" than the "what". That is why he is so special. Pep's ability is to transmit, to convince others, and to reach the mind of the footballer. The way he communicates drags everyone towards his way of playing. The most complicated thing for a coach is not preparing the strategy - it's touching heartstrings. He is a master of that.

And Our Tata fully endorses the above.

Long balls in the second half at Highbury and now pep has gone full club shop in his pre match presser. He's channelling the inner Pullis to take us to glory.

There is big difference between keep changing and keep improving. Sometimes a change does not lead to positive results and it does not have to be complicated. Pep keeps changing things in complicated way and trying new ideas such as playing Bernardo as LB!!!, It is part of Pep thinking is finding new solutions but sometimes he chose complicate solutions. He could easily play Ake as LB, he already tried him in this position and Ake did well.

We did win against Aston Villa with Bernardo as LB.

Don't act we didn't win a single thing with this formation.
