All very true...I think you need to take into account that we're not playing in a fair setting. If we were, the mistakes would be on Pep.
The longer picture shows you the problem in both the PL and the CL. We don't get calls that're obvious and opposition gets calls that're outrageous!
Pep thinks loading the opposition's canon is not the way to go about it since it's already not fair.
Just like Laporte was called for a ridiculous penalty last year vs Real Madrid. What's he supposed to do? Not jump for the ball? Hand in a natural position but still penalty!
And if you recall he went ballistic at Mahrez for missing a goal because he knows you have to win by 5 goals or you're not winning.
The ref's will always find a way to penalize us and they did!
Love it or hate it.. Pep is at least willing to try!
Thing is over 38 games.. even the preferred teams make mistakes and that's how Pep's managed to sneak us in to 4 PL titles. With the CL and fewer games, better opposition, its A LOT HARDER!
But we always get distracted by Melissa Reddy saying we're the cheats and the Rags don't get enough credit!
Politics in football!
I don't get mad anymore.. I just thank Pep. I thought after we got Haaland.. they'd love us but instead he's not getting obvious calls..
So it will never change. Not with the best players, not with another manager. They'll always be against us!
Dude you're always agreeing with yourself, who am I to argue?Glad we agree -:)
If Pep was the manager of a 'istree club and had the sucess he has achieved at our club he would be praised to high heaven , but we know how our club is treated in the media and if they have a chance of taking the piss they will grab it with both of their six digit hands.
Pep this season has not took any prisoners in his pressers and interviews particularly this season he fights fire with fire and has manfully stuck up for our club , i think he realises whilst he is manager of our club he will never get the recognition he deserves.
Quite simply he is the best manager we have ever had and will ever have , previously Joe Mercer was the benchmark for me , he made a brilliant team from nothing ably assisted by Big Mal.
When Pep does ride off into the sunset it will be one hell of a void to fill , f*ck the media and pundits and let's enjoy his presence over the next couple of years and the trophies he will no doubt win.
You do not speak for all fans , i would rather have a 1-1 draw at Lepzig than a 3-3 , a high scoring draw just highlights your defence is shite.basically pep is being cowardly that is the end of this discussion. he is a paradigmatic manager that prefers to draw 1-1 rather than 3-3. that is the reason he is telling the team to play this way. we know the fans prefer the opposite. maybe be pep's approach will be better for the long run to mask our flaws but this is also exactly why we will probably never win the CL under him. the CL requires to be brave and go for it at all times and play with no fear, just look at Real Madrid.

We have signed far less lemons than any other club in europe , look at the shite Barca and Real have wasted money on , our recruitment under Pep has been superb , history has shown judging players after one season under Pep is ridculous. Players take time to adjust to new clubs and tactics , too many fans want instant success , Pep knew he was here for the long haul and has developed players , he see's potential.Your most trusted friends can recommend a Mercedes Benz to you but after you buy it, it can still turn out to be a lemon!
That's not nonsense, its real life! And sadly we're in that situation this season..
I agree, here is a link to the transcript. The chances that we will get a better manager than Pep are very low, very low. We will hopefully see some very successful ones in the future but a lot will depend on the players that are recruited and all sorts of other factors. However finding a football manager better than Pep that will be a huge stretch.
The 2nd half of Pep's latest presser was fascinating and it explained a lot for those who don't appear to understand certain things. It was certainly a reminder that Pep is constantly thinking and analysing. He also constantly adapts.
This season we have faced a number of challenges that make it difficult to play the kind of football many are craving. The make-up of the squad and how our opponents approach games against us are key factors and they won't change this season.
They say a bad workman blames his tools; Pep very specifically does not do that but the club needs to change parts of his toolkit for next season and allow Pep to evolve things.
