Pep Guardiola - 2022/23

The main difference is the result. We played better last Saturday than this. This week Pep’s a hero, last week Pep out.

Result it's all matters, if we are winning even with football being shit he will be seen as hero and tactical genious. If we draw or lose but playing a great football he will be blamed first getting a tactic, formation, player wrong.

If you count the number of chances we had against Nottingham, and the number of chances we conceded, we were better against Nottingham (which at the same time is a much better team that Bournemouth), so if we were toothless then, we were even more today (we were not toothless either day ofc). The only difference is that we were effective today. We scored one of 3 Rodri's header, Haaland 2 tap ins, KDB 2 free shoots in the box, or Foden gives the correct pass, and we were 0-4 easily.

Toothless - no end product.

I even stated the difference was our effectiveness.......so im not sure what you were replying to,or why you think my comment needed criticism/explaining.

Pep is shocking at using substitutions.
When we are leading any sub by him seems to be code for the rest of the team to down tools.
The pace drops , goal threats stop ,opponents sniff a chance for some redemption. The number of his subs is usually directly proportional to the damage he will wreak e,g 2nd half of the derby.

He's not. Gundo v Villa - City champions (for example).

He explains why he often does not make subs.

Yesterday, he made subs to let players have game time without risking the win. He knows he will disrupt the flow but the whole point is that the more he can do that sort of thing, the more chance the level of disruption will lessen in future. Unfotunately, the luxury of having the game put to bed very early does not occur as often as we'd like.

No he did not.

I agree with Pep and Sadd2.

Yes he did.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to BBC Match of the Day: "We have had many travels and recoveries in the system with just three days between games, but the team is alive and I am very pleased with the game today.

"We played better than at Nottingham, we created more chances today, both games were really good but unfortunately it didn’t happen at Nottingham because football is football. We are still going to be fighting for the Premier League and we have a tough contender but many things are going to happen."

I agree with me :)

I don’t think that transcription is an accurate reflection of what he meant and you have to be careful about Pep’s use of English at times. Also, it’s self evident that we didn’t create more chances vs Bournemouth than vs Forest.

His post match presser is an another clue in how he refers to recent games.

Our xg (silly stat I know) was more at Bournemouth than at forest because chances and shots are different things. He described us as "more dynamic" in another interview with sky. I agree with him, now whether he meant to say it is a different thing and not something I can comment on.

Disappointed he didnt use the last 20 to put grealish or foden in the middle. Why put Gomez there when he will never play that position? He could easily have put Gomez left mid.

however, only a small gripe. He got pretty much everything right.

I think Pep has very deliberately sent quite a few messages to supporters (and media) in his recent press conferences.

My summation, you criticise but you don't really understand.

That comments surely will rattle his detractors in here.
