Tonight was our 35th home game in the CL under Pep.

The losses (incredibly these were all in a row)
Basel 1-2 in the last 16 2017/18.
Liverpool 1-2 in the quarter finals 2017/18.

Stones was both a centre back and a holding midfielder. Akanji was right back. He’d swapped them round but stones was still the one who joined the midfield. It stopped us getting too exposed down that side.Please do for plebs like me.

No. Akanji has been centre back and stones right back. Tonight they were the opposite. It was a subtle but important change because it tightened up the right flank when Stones joined the midfield.Isn't that what he has been doing for some games now?
I think Pep is looking really well lately.
Physically looks well,and is really relaxed,laid back and not as tetchy.
Hope this bodes well for the rest of the season
Point being if Pep is Happy with life and and relaxed it transfers to the team.

Nailed it. I won't lie, i was concerned without walkers pace, felt it wasn't worth the risk as if it went wrong it was more likely to go disastrously wrong but peps smashed it.
Unless injuries occur I can't see him shifting too much from this formation now for the rest of the season.
